One of the ten songs that make this one of the most brilliant--though her least successful in charting--debut LP's. A dessert island choice of mine for sure. They say David screwed it up, but I guess someone fixed it just fine.

I love this performance. I watched it when it aired years ago and it transported me. So nice to see it hear.

Dear friends in music, please see a MUST-SEE short film, "Buffy Sainte-Marie: The lie that was never told." It is fictional story where young "Baby Lazarus" discovered what his hero, Buffy Sainte-Marie, had lied about her aboriginal ancestry. Shot on the Mescalero Apache Reservation in New Mexico. the film humorously addresses the serious issues Buffy's true race and identity as well pinpointing the validy of her music in the wake of the discovery of her "lost" birth certificate. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYjHmWukrLafapo

Yeah, I know what you mean.. But... He ain't there. And neither is any other bassist. The bass you hear here is clearly that of Jonis then-husband Larry Klein. Hate to say this, but i think Joni is doing "sing-back" here, at best.

She is The Best of The Best. Never tp be surpassed I adore her and Lemard Cohen since so many years ago...I will be 74years old in November. I think that Joni pipped Lenard to the post with her lyrics, but they are both Magnificent!!

How many songs move the needle of humanity? This "late" version of Both Sides Now, fearlessly sung by Joni, is one such song. I'm going to weep with abandon someday when he passes from this world into the next (she turned 80 in 2024). Take your time Joni. I love you.

I needed a background to go with a song about a mythical cat named Whisker Strings who influenced in our lifetime. Your video was perfect. If you want me to take it down let me know. Whisker Strings song and you video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIXVmmqepbB5ptE let me know if it's okay.

I don't think this is "live". It's the song off her album, dubbed in over the video of her singing it live. It is exactly like the album, a live version would sound slightly different.

A long, long, long, long way from Joni Mitchell & just her accoustic guitar, in the 60's singing 'Both Sides Now" and now with a full orchestra behind her. I might be in the minority but I much rather hear the 1960's version any day.

Of course she is the great Joni Mitchell, but I don't like how she is singing this. James Taylor's version is better in his tribute to her.

Number One is just fascinating. The rhythm is a little dark and haunting. Her strutting looks tricky and yet she can sing along, no problem. Quite a creation!

Dear Joni: You’re only human. I know… we all need attention.. You need the accolades.. But as for me, I’ll just turn my head when I see you in that wheelchair , singing in the low sotto voce. I’ll close my eyes and remember you like this.. amdst the songs only G-d could have written.. and for which I have no other words. .
