Congratulations on the video! Very easy to follow and well explained! I have a question for you tho... Why did you use the bags instead of any other technique? What are the perks on using this technique over any other?
@ezmushroom
@ezmushroom 2 күн бұрын
There are numerous reasons to use this method: it helps maintain the correct hydration levels, as water cannot evaporate out of the bag. Additionally, mixing the spawn and substrate in the bag is easier and minimizes contact with the outside environment until the mycelium has fully colonized.

How do you add holes for fruiting?
@ezmushroom
@ezmushroom 3 күн бұрын
Dont do that. I'm going to try top fruiting out of the top of the bag (King Oysters) OR another idea is mixing the spawn into sterile substrate together in the bag, leaving to colonise then transfering into a shoebox / monotub for fruiting (Cordyceps, King Oysters, Pioppino, Reishi, etc). I haven't tried this yet, though, but will make some videos soon as I have ideas.

Thanks for the awesome series of videos really appreciated!! 👍 I've got a small grow tent on the way for a fruiting chamber and I shall be knocking up some jars of grain spawn and a batch of liquid spawn culture of lions mane once the LSC arrives. Two questions if I could pick your brain with, I have a sack of millet and I'm presuming that this should work the same way as the oats and also is it possible to grow lions mane on a CVG substrate? ( As I already have coir and Vermiculite)😅

How do you go on about maintaining the genetics stable, do you often go back to spore?
@user-xb1ht4py2v
@user-xb1ht4py2v 25 күн бұрын
going back to spores is the opposite of maintaining stable genetics. It is like going back to seed when you only want to regrow a perfect tomato. Spores, like seeds combine genetics, giving you entirely different phenotypes (varieties) of shrooms. You could clone a shroom or just continue to keep the MYC running. Once you have some jars of LC those will keep for months.

For a hot second there i thought you were pouring tabasco sauce in instead of food colouring 😆 The only 2 things i would possibly suggest with this is, 1) You can squeeze the sides of a syringe quite hard and you can squeeze one drop out, and 2) Long sleeves are prone to contamination Cheers though
