Interesting about the stone maps. If you haven't read about the " Dare Stones" you should. Only the first one found is belived to be authentic, the rest are fakes. Old country man took the museum guy for money.

So no one bothered to look up the fact Waltz shot and killed his own nephew as well as the Peralta family workers who let him be part of their claim? Those weren't the only ones either. And it wasn't in self-defense, it was just for the greed of keeping the mine for himself. He does NOT deserve a monument. Research next time before you give someone a monument who doesn't deserve it.
@legendofthesuperstitionmou9692 күн бұрын
Hmmm Holmes picked the wrong grave site originally where Waltz was supposedly buried. Holmes also said Waltz told him he was not a naturalized citizen. Waltz was a naturalized citizen. Any version of what Holmes said is likely a lie. Holmes said he was alone with Waltz, Ida his wife said she was with him and Brownie said Gideon Roberts was with him. Others said it was a Mexican. Julia had Waltz’s sisters address. Holmes did not. I wouldn’t think too hard about anything Dick Holmes claimed.

@legendofthesuperstitionmou969 Look up Steven Campbell. He works at the Goldfield museum. He knows the entire backstory. In fact he talks all about it on a youtube video he was on. He said right before Jacob Waltz died he told the local police where his dead nephew's body was and that they did indeed recover it. Jacob killed quite a few folks.

I was last there at the cemetery a couple of years ago to visit Jacob Waltz's grave. I always thought in interesting how this cemetery looked neglected and kinda unkept considering all the early Phoenix natives that must be buried there including Jacob Waltz. In fact the last couple of times I visited the gates to the cemetery was locked. How long ago did this happen? Anyway, nice to see this done to the cemetery and that Jacob has a new memorial marker. I am definitely going to come down to see it and pay my respects. My thanks to all that made this happen. I think it a kind gesture to Jacobs memory. And thank you for posting this Wayne! I am not often in Phoenix these days so I wouldn't have known anything about this being done if not for posting for all of us to experience. Thank you! 🙏🙂🙏

I think that the presentation by the Phoenix historian sums up the not only the essences of the Dutchman but the fascination we all have with the what he left behind. No answers, just questions!

Here in Nashville, Tennessee, we got a couple of inches of snow, and predictably, chaos ensued. Cars and pickup trucks are scattered in ditches, and the interstate is backed up for 20 miles. If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that Southerners are not the best at driving in the snow. Lol! It doesn’t take much for winter weather to bring everything to a standstill around here!... And yes you said my right Solon. So-lon and your welcome Wayne
