Many of these stories have a similar pattern ! Guy goes out , storm comes in , finds shelter , discovers something but can never find the location again ! Moral of the story , take what you can while you can because that's the last chance you'll get !

I lived in E Mesa and was in the Supers all the time. I drove east from Tortilla not more than 5 miles and as soon as the grade leveled out, there was a small canyon "trending north" I followed it down to a cliff that was at least 300ft, and it had foot and hand holds chipped into the face. I climbed down and was at the creek that runs in the lake (or one of them) when I came across a fresh foot print, so I decide right then I'd better get the *^%^& out of there and come back with a crew. That was 1993, and I have yet to return.

I've come across plenty of shrines in the desert and all I found were old candles, dead animals and dark symbols. Thanks for the story.

Super interesting story as always Wayne you're the best! Now I know you are an avid reader and have an extensive library of books about lost treasure, loads, mines and so on, so with that in mind have you read Coronado's Children by J. Frank Dobie Copyright 1930. the book is a multitude of stories and tales about lost mines and buried treasure in the southwest. If you haven't read this then I highly recommend it to you, I know you would love it and find many tails worthy of sharing! Have a great Christmas and New Years holiday!!
