@@karmengia72 Oh my gosh that is amazing Gisele! I agree it is hard to figure out what to do with all the art we make. I have several groupings of my 4X4's hanging in my house--sets of 9 and 12. I have also given a set to a friend for her birthday. None of my littles have sold online or at the last Art Walk I did so the majority are stacked in a box. I have hung mine several ways--with simple thumbtacks, mounting putty, and small command strips.
@karmengia727 күн бұрын

@pamhemmerling4 күн бұрын
@@karmengia72 Hi Gisele, The reason mine are not sticking together in the storage box is that I did not put a coat of matte medium on top. It is not a good idea to do that because now they are not sealed and could easily tear or scrape (and a few have). I thought I might eventually apply cold wax or even encaustic as a sealant but I have not done that. I think using wax paper is the best idea.

Hi Heini, the only specific colors I would recommend would be black, white, and raw umber. Beyond that, I suggest choosing a few of your favorite colors to get started--a pink, red, green for example. Once you know that you like using them you could branch out from there with more diverse colors. Another option would be to buy a set of inks. Hope that helps.

@pamhemmerling26 күн бұрын
Hi Ara, I would do a "wash" over the colors in either a raw umber or another dark-ish color to dull them down. It also will unify your colors and gives a great effect. Basically how I do it is to water down the raw umber (even if it is a fluid) and use a large paintbrush to cover the area then wipe it off with a paper towel or rag. You can repeat this until you get the look you want. I hope that helps.
