I can’t believe you seriously expect anyone to take much notice of what you’re sat there talking about! The Q3 is a top of the range camera intended for people who are serious photographers. Video capability is provided as a simple back up. Neither Leica or any other reviewer have claimed it to excel in that respect, and neither will ever make phone calls. I’m frankly puzzled as to why you ever acquired this camera. It’s a serious tool for photographers who know what they’re doing.

As far as this being a camera for professional photographers it was weird that Leica didn’t check for my certification when they accepted my payment? :). As far as the video we are going to have to disagree. IF Leica is going to build an 8K video camera then it is not a back up feature. Leica could have done what Hasselblad decided to do and get rid of video. Instead they went the other way and doubled down. The video image that comes out of this camera is stunning, and now that it accepts an audio signal is also a huge plus. It could have been that my personal expectations at this price point when it came to just this feature was surprising that they missed the mark on stability or stability processing. Anyway, I am having a blast with this camera and I am amazed at what comes out of it. Maybe one day I will get my serious photographer certificate :) Cheers from Las Vegas. Hey Robert! Hello, I have had the experience of owning three Stromer ST3, 5 & 7 e bikes. I am in the process of restoring the first St3 that has around 6600 miles. It has been a very difficult process with local dealer service support. I have sourced out with the help of part manufactures and local bicycle shops to restore the St3. The original alexrims are cracking so we sourced out new wheels with re spoking the rear. A new shimano crank was installed, chain, cassette, hub. A new brake system was researched and installed. The front brake system is easily sourced and the rear four bolt rotor has been a challenge to source.The battery is still around 93% of capacity. I have sourced out a company that can replace cells. The reason that I am restoring the ST3 is that the frame and quality of the bicycle is outstanding and that is the reason I purchased them. On the other hand I have had an extremely difficult time with local dealer support and the locations of these stromer repair shops. Looking back if I would have known the support of this brand was like buying and servicing a Bugatti, probably would have gone with another manufacture. I would strongly suggest if you have any questions to contact the different parts manufactures that were sourced to put these bicycles on the road. It has been frustrating but also great and challenging fun to make a great product better, or keep it running.

That strap is for bigger heavier cameras with large lenses, On my Q3 I use their Leash strap, it's less likely to scratch the camera if you remove one side when putting it back in the bag and is the right size for it. The one one you choose looks ridiculous on it. I have that bag as well, but there are several better choices for that camera. By the way the Q series have leaf shutters built into the lens and if put away for longer periods when not used should be stored on its back to avoid "droop" occurring on the leaf style shutter.
@jasonlynch9979Ай бұрын
Hi... Thanks for watching. and your advice, criticism, and opinion. Let me clarify a few things. I chose the strap because it’s comfortable, adjustable, and doesn’t cut into my neck like narrower ones do. It works well for me.. As for the bag, I selected it based on practicality-size, comfort, and affordability. I don’t store my camera in the bag; I only use it for travel. High-end options like Oberwerth are great, but they’re not necessary for everyone, especially when a more budget-friendly option gets the job done (maybe one day). Regarding the leaf shutter, I’ve never encountered 'droop' being a common issue with the Q3, but I’ll look into it.

Thanks Jason. Well put. I am an ST3 PInion owner in the SF Bay Area. I certainly share your concerns. One reason I took the Stromer 'risk' was that I trusted that The New Wheel (in SF, Larkspur & Oakland) was one of the best shops in North America when it came to knowledge and experience with Stromers. I still feel that; and they have reassured me. But, obviously if Stromer disappears or The New Wheel bails (not likely, I'm sure) things get scary... especially with these eclectic bikes. Thanks for your work and thanks to Stromer if they make the improvements you suggest.

As a U.S. resident living in a multiple Stromer household for the past seven years, I can't say that I'm surprised. I love the bikes. There's literally nothing better on the market when it comes to engineering and quality, but their service end of the business has always been lacking. Of the three seperate bike stores that I've purchased Stromers from, all three made the decision to stop selling Stromers between 2-3 years ago, mainly due to the extreme frustration they experienced with obtaining service parts. I'm still not sure why this was the case, but there has always seemed to be a lack of leadership in their U.S. operations. If I did need to have any of my bikes serviced, I'd have to have them shipped several hundred miles each way. I'm sure that many other Stromer owners are in the same boat. Luckily, I'm pretty handy, so I can work on the bikes myself, but this requires a level of experience and tenacity that some don't have. Given the near impossibility of obtaining certain parts, I've actually resorted to buying parts bikes on ebay and Craigslist to keep my fleet running. I plan on doing the same as long as I can because there's nothing that comes close to riding a Stromer.
@jasonlynch9979Ай бұрын
@@AndyWilliams8 Hi Andy… I am new to the Stromer eco system.. but even in my short time as a customer I would agree that they are great at developing product at a premium however with that comes with the expected premium customer service and after sales experience. It seems like that is where thy fall flat. Not to mention they rely on the individual bike shops to handle that brand delivery but I have heard that the bike shops found Stromer to be difficult to work with to get things done or failed on promises. So something is wrong. Totally agree that these bikes are so much fun but the company is at risk if they can’t the service profit chain sorted out.

Just got the Q3 and enjoying it quite a bit, aside for the continuous autofocus quirks. When comparing stabilization and overheating, it’s important to consider that Apple only has to accommodate a much smaller sensor, approximately 11mm x 8mm, whereas the Q3 uses a full-frame sensor, around 36mm x 24mm. Achieving effective stabilization and managing heat is much trickier with the larger sensor, especially in a compact design.
@jasonlynch9979Ай бұрын
@@PixlPath Congratulations.. I have not experienced any over heating with the Q3… I have found that the recording limit is about 30min. That was unexpected. When shooting talking head videos I use a tripod but if I wanted to use the Q3 as a hybrid travel camera shooting video is too unstable but I love the video quality if you can set the camera down. I would love for them to address in possibly a firmware and use crop stabilization OR update the PHOTOS app to process the stabilization similar to the Blackmagic app for the iPhone you could also probably solve the Bluetooth mic issue as well by offloading to to an app .. this might require a usb connection from the camera to the phone but let the phone do all the hard work.

I have been shooting with the RicohG3x for a few years and have been really wanting to get the q3-43- but cannot pull the trigger. Keep coming back to the fundamental question you are trying to answer, is picture quality worth the inconvenience, even if i could afford it. The ricoh gives more control than an iphone, hangs on my wrist most of the time, hardly noticeable and you get better framed photos than the iphone for street. So confused - keep up the good work - you speak for a lot of us.
@jasonlynch99793 ай бұрын
Thank you so much.. To be honest I love taking pictures with my iPhone, because it’s always with me, easy to carry, and takes good pictures, and you can be spontaneous. The Q3 is not that.. it’s bigger (while not a big as other systems) and you have to plan ahead as far as having it with you. However, I think if you can get over that hurdle the image quality you get is way different than an iPhone in my case, and could be different to your system. Now back to the original question is the picture quality worth the inconvenience… I am still not sure.

Hi Jason, I have owned the Q3 for as long as you have and my experience is not dissimilar to you even though I am somewhat more advanced in my photography skills.
