As a U.S. resident living in a multiple Stromer household for the past seven years, I can't say that I'm surprised. I love the bikes. There's literally nothing better on the market when it comes to engineering and quality, but their service end of the business has always been lacking. Of the three seperate bike stores that I've purchased Stromers from, all three made the decision to stop selling Stromers between 2-3 years ago, mainly due to the extreme frustration they experienced with obtaining service parts. I'm still not sure why this was the case, but there has always seemed to be a lack of leadership in their U.S. operations. If I did need to have any of my bikes serviced, I'd have to have them shipped several hundred miles each way. I'm sure that many other Stromer owners are in the same boat. Luckily, I'm pretty handy, so I can work on the bikes myself, but this requires a level of experience and tenacity that some don't have. Given the near impossibility of obtaining certain parts, I've actually resorted to buying parts bikes on ebay and Craigslist to keep my fleet running. I plan on doing the same as long as I can because there's nothing that comes close to riding a Stromer.

@@AndyWilliams8 Hi Andy… I am new to the Stromer eco system.. but even in my short time as a customer I would agree that they are great at developing product at a premium however with that comes with the expected premium customer service and after sales experience. It seems like that is where thy fall flat. Not to mention they rely on the individual bike shops to handle that brand delivery but I have heard that the bike shops found Stromer to be difficult to work with to get things done or failed on promises. So something is wrong. Totally agree that these bikes are so much fun but the company is at risk if they can’t the service profit chain sorted out.

Just got the Q3 and enjoying it quite a bit, aside for the continuous autofocus quirks. When comparing stabilization and overheating, it’s important to consider that Apple only has to accommodate a much smaller sensor, approximately 11mm x 8mm, whereas the Q3 uses a full-frame sensor, around 36mm x 24mm. Achieving effective stabilization and managing heat is much trickier with the larger sensor, especially in a compact design.
@jasonlynch99794 күн бұрын
@@PixlPath Congratulations.. I have not experienced any over heating with the Q3… I have found that the recording limit is about 30min. That was unexpected. When shooting talking head videos I use a tripod but if I wanted to use the Q3 as a hybrid travel camera shooting video is too unstable but I love the video quality if you can set the camera down. I would love for them to address in possibly a firmware and use crop stabilization OR update the PHOTOS app to process the stabilization similar to the Blackmagic app for the iPhone you could also probably solve the Bluetooth mic issue as well by offloading to to an app .. this might require a usb connection from the camera to the phone but let the phone do all the hard work.

@ I’m way out of warranty and even before they announced the closing, we had zero dealers in Sacramento. Nearest was San Francisco-not exactly where you want to be driving to/from. I found an old Stromer dealer who got me past my error code PTSD. Had to get a new motor and replaced the internal electric circuit board. About $1700 dollars later I have a bike worth investing a new battery. There’s a Red Bull ST7 for sale out of SF and he’s asking 10k with 34 miles with leather Stromer pannier. Not sure he can get that price given the announcement.

I have been shooting with the RicohG3x for a few years and have been really wanting to get the q3-43- but cannot pull the trigger. Keep coming back to the fundamental question you are trying to answer, is picture quality worth the inconvenience, even if i could afford it. The ricoh gives more control than an iphone, hangs on my wrist most of the time, hardly noticeable and you get better framed photos than the iphone for street. So confused - keep up the good work - you speak for a lot of us.
@jasonlynch9979Ай бұрын
Thank you so much.. To be honest I love taking pictures with my iPhone, because it’s always with me, easy to carry, and takes good pictures, and you can be spontaneous. The Q3 is not that.. it’s bigger (while not a big as other systems) and you have to plan ahead as far as having it with you. However, I think if you can get over that hurdle the image quality you get is way different than an iPhone in my case, and could be different to your system. Now back to the original question is the picture quality worth the inconvenience… I am still not sure.

Hi Jason, I have owned the Q3 for as long as you have and my experience is not dissimilar to you even though I am somewhat more advanced in my photography skills. Hi. I just used painter's tape and a sharp exacto knife to tape off the areas I did not want to paint, mainly the rubber grips and anything else rubber. I linked the exact paint I used in the description of this video, and you can get it on Amazon or at a hardware store. Give it a light sanding and also wipe it down with rubbing alcohol before shooting, and just like anything you paint, use light coats until you get to where you want it. It turned out great. I did chip off the paint on a trip (at the bottom of the grip), but that was super easy to fix... light sanding and re-shoot, and it turns out just as good as new.

@@rptempmail1 Hi.. I have never had a motor “shut down” however it is 100% true that sport mode will default to assist level 3 if it gets over heated. You are also correct that uphill (when you need the assist level most) is when this is most likely to occur. Outside temperature also is a consideration . If it is hot outside (above 85F) the time in sport mode is shorter than below 80F. Keep in mind all other assist modes will still work. Once the motor cools down for example you can once again use sport mode.. Example.. you get the warning on the OMNI that sport mode is no longer available you can continue to ride.. and then in 5min or so you can go back into sport.
