2007 was a weird finals year bad venue lots of complaints from fans those breaks included stadium staff instructed yet misunderstood to keep fans from seating even between performances people were P- off traveling that far

In 2024 Music City got the largest penalty in DCI history at nightBEAT. Because of electronic malfunction they received a 6 point timing penalty. It was later bumped down to 4 points because when they were finally ready, the announcer made a little joke like "And they're finally ready" and the corps director went off on the announcer and the judges. So they were awarded 2 points back

George Zingali was a shooting star of the activity... his star (no pun intended) burned bright, burned hot and burned fast.... Blink and you missed it. He was also a once in a lifetime designer and more importantly, an amazing human being. I marched with the Freelancers rfom 87-92... I fell in love with Zingalis work with what I deem to be the greatest bit of drill he ever wrote... the disappearing company front fron 1987 Garfield Cadets. That said, I had the opportunity to meet him in 91... I saw him in the parking lot, obviously walking to be somewhere and he seemed to be in a rush. That said, (perhaps selfishly) I just wanted to meet the man and tell him how much his work meant to me and impacted me. I figured he wouldn't even look at me let alone speak to me. I was wrong. He stopped, he gave me a few minutes of his time. He asked me where I marched and he went on to tell me how much he enjoyed our show and it was obvious he wasn't full of shit... he named specific parts of our show. He wished me luck for the rest of the season and we parted ways. Years later, I realised something.... In those few minutes we had together, he was totally present with me. He stopped, turned his body to face me and looked me in the eye the whole time. It was almost as if he knew who he was and what these couple of minutes meant to me, and he was gonna be present for our brief encounter. I have never forgotten that. -Cainan

91 Crown. Competed as a “Class A” Corps. However that designation no longer exists. Basically it was a class that consisted of 90 or fewer members.

Maybe Kinetic noise was a technically better show, but I prefer Tilt by a lot.
@jeffgray792211 күн бұрын
First, I want this game I'm not familiar with it. Second, you're "wrong" about "Kinetic Noise" being better than "Tilt". It's subjective, that's why I put quotes around it. Anyway, my opinion is that the music in "Tilt" was great while the music in "Kinetic Noise" was awful. I liked just one part of "Kinetic Noise", near the end and that was it. I love all of "Tilt". I still think Blue Devils deserved to win in 2014, but "Tilt" is the far superior show to "Kinetic Noise" because the music just sounded to me like a lot of noise. I respect it, I just don't enjoy it. But to each their own.

Dude! I completely forgot I made this Kahoot back in high school like 2016. I named it “Advanced” because I was OBSESSED with DCI compared to my fellow band mates, so these questions were hard for them lol. To answer a comment made about not much open class stuff, I was hyper focused on World Class performances. I only included SCVC 2013 because our Pit tech marched that year. Hope you guys liked HS-me’s “advanced” DCI kahoot!

That’s weird I’ve never heard of the housing issue. Like personally my school houses the Boston Crusaders. Then I know that Rose Hulman houses SCV. And i’ve heard of other corps staying at school idk about specific places and names.

9:44 Just for clarity, Lucas Oil was scheduled to open in 2008, but it got delayed to after the season ended, so the first season in that stadium was 2009. 🙂

I marched at a high level before I joined the Army (not in their band). It made parts of BCT a lot easier. The marching stuff would crack me up because of how many people struggled with it. Plus I could handle the discipline a lot easier than the average Joe. Good stuff bro. Hooah

Which Army band? I’ve seen some great players get snowed and end up being stationed in a less than stellar band at a random post. Had to just grind and make some rank and try and get auditions for the top bands. But occasionally I’ve heard some shredders (usually with a degree), make a top band.

Pushups! 80's VK hornline here, and one summer elsewhere, and we did tons of pushups. Every time you're standing on the field, push out 20 or 30. I'm glad that still happened.

This is a very interesting comparison of what seems like two totally different topics. My most influential teacher in school was my high school band director, who had served in an Army band. So he ran his high school program like a low-key platoon operation. Everyone knew what their role was, and how to get it done. "Results, not excuses".
