It's depends on the use. For Flying. I like the American Grey glass or the Atlantic Blue Nylon. For a cool look. I like the Cobalt blue with a Gold frame with Tortoise temples. As long as they’re not too tight against your face, they will not cause fogging. The key is that there’s gaps for air to flow through. That is very rarely a problem.

i loved your sunglasses PEAHI (curve/wrap) .. ... only issue is the temple is little short for me... which would be another MAUI JIM sunglasses with a similar wrap fit as PEAHI but a little longer Temple that you would recommend ??@@flightsunglasses

I am confused. Cool though these Randolph may be, they are hardly functional when it comes to keeping sunlight out, especially from the sides of the frame. I've always known that pilots' sunglasses must be large enough to allow sufficient protection from oblique angled sunlight - frame styles that incorporate small lenses are not practical since they allow too much visible light and UV radiation to pass around the edges of the frame. What would a better sunglass model be, both in terms of style and functionality? I am looking for the definitive pair myself, one that's stylish yet retains its practicality and does what it's supposed to - doesn't let sunlight in unprotected, especially from the sides.

Choose a frame that has a base curve 8x, that way you’re protected from the sides. I don’t know if Randolph makes one like that, but brands like Serengeti or Maui Jim do.

One last question: was the Velocity model the only Serengeti to be made out of full titanium? I am currently considering it as well as the Modugno and the Treviso - Velocity's sleeker but the lenses are smaller and shorter and i could use the added protection from the other two models, but then again those are not titanium and not made in Japan. What shall i do?

They are both great, but if you want more vibrant reds/oranges inside the car (Digital instruments), go with American Grey. It's more neutral on the colors. AGX enhances greens and yellows. Steve, Flight Sunglasses.

@@flightsunglasses thanks for the quick response. I have a kind of sensitive eyes and looking for the most relaxing and/or darkest lens options which would also help with migrains. I have Maui Jim glasses but a few opticians recommended to have non-polarized lenses for driving (still don't understand why non-polar would be better, anyway...), that's how I found Randolph and ended up between the American Gray and AGX.

Sir, would you know where I can find temples compatible for Serengeti Pilot1 7160? The original temples were not durable and easily snapped. Hopefully temples for other models could fit the 7160.

same lens and similar frame, The modugno is a large fit with a taller lens. The material is a medium fit.

Revo does not interfere with lcd screens but it does greatly reduce helpful glare from other aircraft that most pilots like to avoid Cheers

How long does the photo chromic effect last? I heard it only lasts for a maximum of 3 years. After that period the lenses darken less and less...

Serengeti lenses are the same color all the way through the lens. Then photochromic aspect is built into the Lenses and doesn't wear off to the best of my knowledge.

I just bought these on 55% discount and I love them. I can actually wear them at night riding my motorbike no problem, and during bright sunny Indonesian days, they are very comfortable. No eye strain whatsoever. Much better than my oakley photochromic lenses.

Occhiali meravigliosi ma davvero troppo pesanti: 40 grammi che si sentono tutti. Il Corleone già è al limite con i suoi 32 grammi, se pensiamo che il Sestriere pesa appena 19 grammi. Ora su Amazon si trova - fortunatamente per quanto riguarda il peso - il modello “Modugno 2.0” con lenti in policarbonato da loro chiamato “Saturn”, le cui lenti pesando circa 9 grammi rispetto ai circa 16 di quelle in vetro minerale tolgono quei 7 grammi che sembrano niente, ma si sentono tutti.

Great video! Very nice glasses, i think of buying a pair. Right now I have a RayBan Caravan RB3136 58-15. And it’s width is just a bit small. Yes we have them in stock. We have about 40 Velocity Sunglasses left in Black and Espresso. Serengeti made them exclusively for us for years.

Trivex is more Scratch resistant than Polycarbonate Lenses. Glass lenses are the most scratch resistant, trivex is only 30% as heavy as glass.

It's like asking who's your favorite child.... Both are great. I like Randolph for most occasions and style. I prefer the Serengeti Brown lenses for driving/flying due to how it color enhances terrain and has more of a wrapped frame. You can't go wrong with either brand.
