A group of professionally trained psychiatrists studied 400 movies and identified 126 psychopathic characters. The amazing thing is I bet Javier Bardem probably didn’t do a fraction of that and still knocked that role out the park.

Its a travesty that you didnt mention his physical shape in the movie and how he got there with workout.

Maybe Ridley Scott thought that the first part without a script led to success, and wanted to repeat that with Part 2?! That would explain why the film was such an epic fail.... Paul Mescal couldn't deliver that.
@lexkanyima219519 күн бұрын
If you judge the movie I don't think there's a big difference in the original. There's alot of similarities of scenes.
@eat.food.not.friendsАй бұрын
I didn't know the script had so little dialogue. That in mind is Russell Crowe's performance even better, and he definitely deserves the Oscar!

I think Russell Crowe's physique fit the role perfectly. The physique of Paul Mescal is simply too much, too defined. Which gym should Lucius have visited in Africa? Who was his personal trainer? Who created his training and his meal plan, and who cooked that for him? I mean, what would a man have done to train back then? I can imagine he would have dragged tree trunks, carried water buckets and stuff like that. Paul Mescal looks like he spends 3 hours every day with his personal trainer at the gym in Gladiator 2. He looks like a trainer will train with him on the most modern equipment, including protein shakes and everything available to the modern man in 2024. But how realistic is it that Lucius had all this at his disposal?? Not very realistic. I think Russell Crowe looked more like a Roman who does a lot to stay fit and otherwise just works physically. My brother-in-law was a mason, who was also quite strong. I can imagine that a Roman who does like Maximus in film, mainly physical work on the battlefield and on his farm, would have looked more like Maximus.
@lexkanyima219519 күн бұрын
But it's not about the physique, Mescal's physique was okay

Fun Fact: The director never told Christian Bale to lose any weight, not even one pound. He admitted that he didn’t want to be responsible for putting Christian Bale's health at risk, despite Christian Bale being up to the challenge. They were going to use special effects to give him a gaunt appearance.

Not sure if anyone commented on it, but in the book there is sections describing Antons appearance, he wears ostrich skin boots, pressed jeans, his shirt is untucked at least in one scene but has shirt pockets, he wore sunglasses in a segment and didn't have a jacket when outside with agents in the desert. He was also described twice as having blue eyes, once having white skin, medium build, late thirties, a foreign cologne that had a medicinal edge as well as seeming serene. -A book nerd lol (That being said, Javiar is my favorite actor and no actor could've pulled this role off any better regardless of description.)

Marlon Brando is a genius of acting!!! Just like Alain Delon. There is no one who could surpass them. There were many good actors, But these two have not yet been conquered by anyone like Chomolungma.
