True. But keep in mind the actors that do these transformations are usually under the care of a nutritionist, a doctor, and have a very extensive work up done to determine if it’s “safe” for them to do so. Both a physical and psychological work up. Other people are just doing this on a whim for views most likely arnt having that done and under a watchful eye of professionals. Also Bale didn’t do this for 3 days, he did it for months. And it is very obvious to the eye that due to his nutrition it probably felt like hell to go through to do that. And absolutely was not safe under usual parameters

Fun Fact: The director never told Christian Bale to lose any weight, not even one pound. He admitted that he didn’t want to be responsible for putting Christian Bale's health at risk, despite Christian Bale being up to the challenge. They were going to use special effects to give him a gaunt appearance.
