Just watched the first season with my wife and mother in law. We were all enthralled, and a bit exhausted at times by the intensity. Carlmy’s monologue at the end of season one was Jeremy White’s Hamlet. The Bear is art.

I ‘m from Chicago and I too have worked in many restaurants. I just love the scenery and I love the look of the kitchen and all the work that’s done before it’s served. The bear has brought out the feel of what it’s like to do that type of amazing cooking. Good job, Jeremy White on your portrayal of Carme. Love the show! Love the bear.

Episode 6, season two (christmas dinner) is the best of the show. It really ties a lot of the history together and it was also a hoot. Some great acting and nice surprises as guest appearances. Anyone have doubts about Carmy and Claire Bear working things out next season?

this show runs parallel to what actually happens in a busy Kitchen it reminded me of my initial days in the busy hot kitchen where you are only as good as the last Good meal you served,,, A tribute to the silent violent dance that happens in the background while you wait for your food to arrive. I do love how it was based in a “shitty restaurant “. I worked at Starbucks for several years and the busiest locations made me say”behind, corner, etc. “ as well as understand coffee pairings. Service workers are incredible and even if they work in fast food places, their brains are 5 steps ahead of you
