I bought this tent two months ago. I don't know if it is a redesign or if it is already present on your tent, but I can open the door completely without it flapping. The toggle underneath the zip can go into another togel located on the door. Then, you can fix the door with a hook and loop to the inside of the tent. It works really well.

I would not recommend a down jacket as an outer layer for most conditions in the UK weather. Synthetic would be the way to go. Down suffers badly when it gets wet, synthetic holds its insulation qualities much better if it gets damp. A down jacket in my estimation is OK for a mid layer under a waterproof outer shell, as long as it is a thin one. Synthetic though is bulkier and harder to pack of course, so that has to be taken into account.

I had a similar issue with the West Highland Way - a quick search on Google Maps before I started seemed to imply there was nowhere to resupply till Crianlarich half way. I ended up lugging lots of food with me, only to discover there was a shop/café on almost every leg of the walk

Impressive that you blew the air mattress with your lungs! How many times have you done that? Do you get out of breath or are you used to it?

Quilted jackets like that aren't durable anyway, it's bad for an outer surface without any shell.

I did the same walk in 6 days in July 2021 (all on my channel) and was wildcamping where I could. I averaged 25-30 miles each day. Watching your video brought back memories of "I remember that place, I remember that place". I even remember a lot of the bridges you passed. Congrats on making it through Birmingham without getting attacked.

Good to see you back. It's easy to stay home, hard to push yourself out. Most people don't! There are no failures, some outings you sleep out, some not. Better not than put yourself in a situation you wouldn't want to deal with. Every trip out is a lesson. Keep going!

Does the omni tech coating every flake off? I’ve seen some reviews on Reddit where people say the gold coating flakes off on their clothes like glitter.
