Hi PBF 💜 As always, good to see you. Never give up ... we are to be about our Father's business until Jesus returns. God always does make a way ... glad you were blessed by your Hubby's former employer. God knows what we need and when we need it. Pray for you and your family daily. We are doing well. Hubby most likely will be retiring at the end of the year. I am going to the Ortho next week ... looking at knee surgery. It was recommended in December but could not do it then. Well… they HAVE been winning for 2000+ years. And it will continue as long as sheeple are distracted and divided against their neighbor. With the tools the elite have (internet, propaganda, money manipulation, drugs, porn, gambling) most people will never truly wake up. These tools are use to control us, to divide us, and to numb us into apathy. Still… do what you can. Spread the good word, love thy neighbor, think critically, PRAY, and teach others to prep!

They will fail. We will endure.

If that back to basics book is by readers digest I can wholeheartedly recommend it. I have an older copy myself. I also recommend a field guide to wilderness medicine, and along with it a medical dictionary. They use the proper medical terminology, so it helps to have a dictionary to interpret the terms.

The Rotary Clubs often have book sales yearly and often out of print books. Two that i got decades ago, Crafts Of The North American Indians (Richard c. Schneider) and Edible Wild Plants (Lee Allen Peterson) are also good. The first book has everything from tools to mocs to basketry, hope someone can find something similar if not this one. Great video, knowledge is great prepping.

I've found that early Monday mornings are the best time to find meats marked down that didn't all sell over the weekend - and I really like your idea about making up your own bags of frozen vegetables from stuff in the produce section that are on sale

Good afternoon PBF 💜 Enjoyed the video ... good suggestions 😊 The roasted chickens in our grocery are $8.99 ... we bought one today. However, for us, I will get 3 nights of dinners out of it. We don't eat alot of meat ... always been that way so a little goes a long way. I stretch it out in casseroles, etc. You and your family have a long way to go but we are finding one of the advantages of being a senior citizen is we don't eat like we used to. Not sure I like that 🤣🤣. Got to have a sense of humor. I pray for you and your family daily. Take care. 💜

A couple decades ago there were lists available for grocery sales (seasonal as well as normal clearance) but I find that those aren't very accurate anymore. A large portion of that is due to international shipping of food items. But even more important to shopping sales and storing foods is Organization - food, clothing and preps - and being flexible with favorite recipes as well as learning new frugal recipes.

Thank you for sharing because I did the same. I haven't been real with myself. My biggest excuse was that I was prepping for my family as well.

The rotisserie chicken also saves the energy it takes to bake/cook it. I watch for ones that are marked down, usually from the day before, and have spent just $2.50 on one recently. Also, I still freeze soups/stews with potatoes because they are great when pureed and added to a fresh dish like chicken or another soup.
