Hi beautiful! As your base color is white (a true neutral), you can add any color or color scheme to combine it! Set a palette to add color through medium/small pieces such as armchairs, cushions, artwork, vases, sofa, an accent wall, and so on. White combine with all colors! Zahira, can a house with a lot of art work, furniture and plants have too many focal points? I wonder how to create a focal point in such a situation and whether it is possible at all. As usual, another useful informations that you do generously share! My dilemma is I have most probably 20 rugs with various sizes and colours that my husband without consulting me have bought. For the name of God , none or barely on or two I like. None fits the appropriate size and the list goes on and in! If there are four walls in a room, and one wall becomes the focal point. Does 60/30/10 applies to just that one wall or the whole room? This is what's confusing to me. So 3 proportions within a room include the base, the emphasis, and accent. And the rest of the room is the background.

Regarding the 60:30:10 rule does it also include the flooring or is it just the walls and furniture? Excluding the furniture how many colors is a recommended for a living room with an island kitchen? @@stellathunder5950 in my opinion if the floor also is added to the 60 in the 60:30:10 rule then the room is looking a bit bland. I meanaube a darker floor for the contrast. I looked up a lot of videos but there is mixed opinions even amongst the interior designers but she is my favorite so I wanna know what she thinks.
