You are the only person who mentioned how to choose colour of the carpet correctly! It makes so much sense . Consistent colours in open space layouts is everything! You must have a piece of furniture/decor in same colour as your kitchen in your living if you can see both. I know it for sure because I have 4 areas flowing from one to other (formal/chatting lounge area, formal dining, kitchen and then lounge area with tv) and was such a puzzle to tide together all 4!

Great video as always ❤ My house is coming together nicely from all your tips 🙂 I'd love to see a video on lighting a small open plan living area. I've watched your videos on lighting, but would love some more information about small spaces and chosing light fittings that match, without being to matching, but also not overwhelm the small space or block sightlines. I was planning on putting in pendant lighting over my kitchen bench when I was in the planning stage of my build, but now it's built, I feel like I can't get away with them if I also have a pendant light over my dining table as it will block the sightline to the dining area once when I walk in the room. I'm struggling to chose which area should be a feature and what type of lighting I should use.

I have had to move, and sadly although I have a 1 bedroom apt, not a studio, but my kitchen living room now is only 3.10x3.30 metres, so I love cooking, and have brought base units from the house I lived in previously, however if I fix in these base units it leaves very very tiny space for my new sofabed, which is needed for friends coming to stay, so am looking at how to make the best of this small space, but still have space to do my cooking and baking, so I do have a large terrace, so am wondering if using kitchen units outside, and maybe purchasing tall larder units to store all my kitchen needs.../ living room...I love colors and this small space also has 2 windows one on two separate outside walls...any ideas...thanks
