instead of talking blablabla you should write in the *title* the name of composer - François Couperin , tnx

I played a lot of Scarlatti in college - never heard of this one. All those forbidden augmented seconds - that must be why they never mentioned it... :D And yes as a cat owner I can definitely imagine the fugue subject being inspired by a cat.

Elaine, thank you for premiering this beautiful work and commissioning the 3rd sonata. We are very fortunate that Persichetti gifted us so much lovely harpsichord music towards the end of his life, and equally fortunate to have your splendid performances to listen to. Many thanks and best wishes.

First time hearing this piece in dotted rhythm.. which makes me wonder if this is more appropriate since it’s French Everything worked very well for me besides the part before the last return of the A section. It was sticking out a bit for me…

Love the artistry and the instrument, but the toll that standing this long will shorten your life by way of varicose veins, thrombophlebitis, and the most dangerous, thrombosis. I love the music but dread the cost to the artist.

Musicians that play by memory and heart deserve more sppreciation. One wrong note and the whole thing falls apart, props to this lady.

I wonder why you “swing” the quaver notes in several places. Also, why is it played so fast. Is this really Rameau’s intention?
@elainecomparone95863 ай бұрын
We!ll never know since he's no longer with us! Swinging 8th note figures was pretty common in that day. And since we're the ones playing his music, we have the final say!!!

Elaine makes it read like the story it is. This rendition has expression and dramatic breath unlike other performances where it is simply played through. Marvelous playing!
