The duality of being caring and not caring is someting we all have to face for me I love to care more than to not but as you said its great sometimes to just not give a flop or a flying flip just care about the things you can control. thank you for being very insiteful to all that have watched will be listening to all of DLP (LMRATE) goodbye for now.

I don't think I really never cared in my life. When I did not care in the past I think I was unintentionally pushing away problems. This of course did not work subconsciously as it created stresses without seeming causes. Caring and wanting to resolve problems is just more my style. Rather than avoiding I want to find resolutions. When something truly can't be helped find comfort in people and things that give you stability in life, when it can be helped try to do what you can, make sure to adjust your expectations to not undermine your own efforts when you have goals that are very difficult to achieve. Oh and make sure to try and see things for what they could be. If you only see things for what they're not you will get caught up in it and slowly lose hope and passion.

man having never seen anything from you outside of Sleep Deprived made this incredibly surprising but makes sense to me. Y’know I think I ought to give more flops about stuff now, I have few friends and lack motivation but maybe if I put my flipping heart into it, I might be able to be a better friend and find the want to keep working on my projects. Thanks Mika, this was flopping awesome.

i'm an emotional person, but sometimes i reach the point of being so detached (or "nonchalant") as a defense mechanism, or simply just an effect of mentally burning out. and although it can be nice not to worry about anything, it also makes me the LEAST motivated i've ever been. i hate it. giving a flop makes me care, it makes me want to put in effort. yes it can be stressful, but at least i'm trying my best to do good, instead of not really caring at all. W for all the chalant-ers out there

Hello philosophical genius Mika, I just moved back to college today, 1500 miles from home. I made no friends last semester and am scared of reliving the unfortunate experience I had. But this video has given me hope

love hearing a reminder of these things now and then, especially now that i caught myself making goals i know i couldn't possibly work towards myself and reframing that. anyway wanted to add a little personal thing, i love the idea of "dear future self" being something of a letter to you in the future who is so different that you almost see it as "them" and not "me", this is like how i used to write my diaries as a kid. saying things like "hey, so how are things going for you?" and it's always nice reading back those entries because i can reply to young me. for whatever reason seeing my life as a bunch of different mes who try their best to help each other get through gives me some comfort and makes me feel less lonely. i think a major part of healing through some of my issues was treating myself as a different person in some way so i could be more empathetic/kind to me. i think what this video did for me was make me realise that empathy should extend to a future me too, as usually this was something i had to put into context in relation to self hate with who i am and who i have been in the past. pretty neat stuff, thanks!

The infinite abyss between caring and how little that alone matters in the world can create deep, deep pain; But there is no other way to chase deep dreams if you don't first hold on to them.

There’s a famous Zen story that goes: A monk said to his teacher, “I have just entered the monastery. Please teach me.” His teacher asked, “Have you eaten your rice porridge? The monk replied, “I have eaten.” The teacher said, “Then you had better wash your bowl.” At that moment the monk was enlightened. As a challant, I found that it’s good to pay attention to the things you can control especially when things feel out of your hands.
