@AdamWellinformed I'm from Europe and FSD unsupervised won't be avaliable here for a while, maybe even a year so it's not that great of value, and as I said the price will go down a ton in the coming months which will destroy the resale value + I'm more of a Model 3 guy. But damn I would definitely like that design and extra features on a 3. I'm probably gonna buy a used older 3 in a few months and then switch to a newer 3 as they come down in price.

Thats really interesting actually. Different size of vehicle, but could twist a few arms knowing that. Specially the HW4 variants. Wonder how the X Plaid stands up against it 👀

@AdamWellinformed Plaid probably carries more! Our current S has more space with the seats down than our Y. We got a king double mattress and an 85" TV in the back of our S, wouldn't go in the Y😁

Yes, it isn’t cheap. Once supply is ramped, we can expect the cheaper rwd models to follow through. Hopefully, no later than by the end of the year! The US offering with FSD and everything else does seem really competitive IF you were going to buy all it anyway. You like the new Model Y? Planning to upgrade?

@ I’ve had my Model 3 Long Range for nearly 4 years and my wife has a BYD Atto 3 Design which we bought new 6 months ago. As I’m retired now we could go down to one car but it would need to have the range and size that the Model Y provides. If the deal in the UK was as good as it is in Australia and America, I would get the Foundation model Long Range AWD in Red with white interior, tow bar, probably the smaller wheels for the smoother ride and longer range and the FSD or Enhanced Autopilot which I have on my Model 3 which does everything that is currently allowed in the UK. In my earlier post I mistyped the wheel size as 30”, it should have been 20”.

Nope, FSD isn't free anywhere. It's built into the higher launch edition price in every market. I think you mean 20" wheels, 30" would be enormous 😊

As for the FSD, the on line order system for Tesla in the UK clearly states that the New Model Y comes with the standard autopilot and that FSD is an extra £6,800 taking the price above £68,000 and we only get the choice of 2 colours, black and silver. I am not bothered about the tow bar as I’ve never used the one on my Model 3, or the acceleration boost as it’s already quick enough for a family SUV but FSD would be of more value or even Enhanced Autopilot which I’ve had on my current car for 4 years. I won’t be ordering one unless I can get a red one with white interior like my current 2021 Model 3 Long Range.

Only way to tell is via the VIN number assigned after the order has been made. First 3 characters are XP7 for Berlin and LRW for china

@AdamWellinformed I don't understand why people are so obsessed with a vehicle that offers nothing new except for cosmetic changes. Honestly, this vehicle is pretty unattractive. I was a fan of my 2024 Model Y, but after what I've learned, I wouldn't recommend this car to anyone. For starters, you're losing $15,000 right off the bat. Then, you have to shell out $1,600 to $2,000 for a new set of tires that only last 25K to 30K miles. Charging on the road is far more expensive than advertised - it's not the 45 to 50 cents per kWh they claim. 🙄 Repair costs are outrageous, and the service department is a joke. Their customer service is abysmal. And let’s talk range - if I drive 145 miles on a 100% charge, I’m barely left with 10% charge. Where’s that supposed 300-mile range? Exactly. Fans will keep supporting it no matter what, but they don't share the full picture. I base my opinion on facts, not blind loyalty. So in reality, I’m really getting only 55% of the miles advertised, which would equal 155 miles. Really! The other thing is the insurance - $210 per month! Really?! I was paying just $64 a month on my 2023 Tiquan. 🤦‍♂️ Just the hype. People, get the facts first. And the battery - after the warranty is up, you’re looking at $15K to $25K for a new one. If it gets damaged, I’m sure Tesla will find some way to deny the repair. I had an issue with a warranty repair on my new vehicle, and the clerk's assessment was that it was my fault due to "daily use." 🤦‍♂️ I had to fight it, and thankfully, I won. Unreal. You do you my friend. Fans will only be fans.✌️

Honestly, It’s hard to tell what the Tesla game plan will be for the UK. Could they go a step further to sell? Sure, but there’s the risk if they are “priced to sell” the model/trim you want could also be gone. What are your thoughts? Think they’ll drop further?

I just want to highlight under the high frequency part of the Model Y webpage on the refresh "Doors and trunks unlock when you approach." Trunks is plural here. Not to mention in the video that shows them clicking open frunk, there is a frame or two showing close frunk. Both strong indications. Take a look, and let me know what you think?

@@AdamWellinformed Exactly it says *Unlocks* it doesnt say open, and I dont know what video you were looking at but I went back and had a look at it, it says *Open* the whole time.

Sorry my bad, i should have the clarified the video in question. On the learn more model Y page about 3/4 down theres a video that loops and the scene starts with the automatic trunk opening. When they click the screen for the frunk it says open, but look on left of it. There is a close frunk notification . Would be easier if I could add pictures here 😂

It's not powered sadly. People are making this mistake based on the animation on the screen which has always been like that. If it were powered the open button on the screen would quickly change to close.

I mean its yet to be determined as market to market their strategy will vary. But always best to prepare for the worst, and hope for the best! Especially with the limited launch series being promoted.

Tesla charger arguably looks the best on the wall. But frankly it isn’t essential, i’ve had a pod point one for 4 years now. Does everything it needs to do. You looking to go on the octopus intelligent tariff? If so, probably ideal to get a compatible charger, though mine is linked with the car instead. I haven’t personally used both. So i wouldn’t want to provide any advice comparing the two against each other. But one thing to note is the tesla credits expire after a period of time.

Important to understand Tesla do make configurations changes within weeks on hardware underneath the skin, and on the surface. These changes aren’t aways known or published. Therefore, it’s all subject to change and it probably has done from the many weeks ago the video was published. However I will pin the comment to make others aware of the latest position 👍

For the extra money you get much better audio (In my opinion), fog lights (really help in the Danish weather, and the AWD (which is fantastic the few weeks of snow each year and in heavy rain). On the downside, you will have to change the front tires more often on the AWD, you will have lower range and you will have a lower turn radius. I think it's worth it, but I'm also from the dark Jylland and drive a lot on small roads and listing ALOT to music. Hope this helps!

Why are you bringing politics in the equation when it was never discussed? Are you aware if Tesla successfully achieves FSD unsupervised and robotaxi. That has the ability to dramatically reduce accidents, and thus saving thousands of innocent lives, including children! Are you then against that because it’s part of Tesla’s mission? Does everyone involved at Tesla then deserve to be penalised? As you say “anything Elon related”, but where do you draw the line? There will be many suppliers, contractors and workers across the globe associated with Elon’s business interests. Are they all committing this moral crime too? “Anything elon related” isn’t as black and white as you suggest it is. But my honest take is, consumers always vote with their money. He’s been posting on Twitter/X for years now. Consumers that want the products/services will continue to buy it. The other’s won’t. Love it or hate it. The free market will ultimately decide in the end.

What I'm not going to do is give thumbs up to organised hotel burnings. 100% get the frustration, but mob rule and kangaroo court justice isn't generally a good outcome.
