Tesla is still the best in all aspect. Our family has 4 Tesla cars, we still own the first one we bought 2014 Model S 85 kw original battery and DU. 260.000 km driven. Our newest one is 2024 Y Berlin made with BYD blade batteries, no other brand at this price even comes close. Not to mention SuC.

I’m debating trading in my Sienna for Y. Sienna runs great. Love the sliding doors for kids drop off at school. Fold down rear seats and can fit a 75” tv or whatever. It’s so functional but boring. And I’d would prob save decent amount on gas. Still debating 😵💫

Only thing holding me back is that I’m 1 year in on a 3 year lease with Subaru. I’ll have to figure out if the current price, plus the current low APR is worth early termination fees and the $8000 I’ll be upside down due to my current lease. Probably makes more sense to wait, but then I risk the potential higher price of the Juniper and the possibility of not have a low interest rate. Any suggestions???

Hey Adam im just getting my 1st tesla as well and im like you in york based, although i can't charge it at home (terrace house) . Do you have any tips to do for the very first time owning an electric car. My understanding is that at the designer outlet, they will install tesla superchargers.
@AdamWellinformed5 ай бұрын
Hey congrats on your purchase. I drive up to Whitby with the family so I’m looking forward to that supercharger installation!! Long shot, but can you apply to have one of them gullies installed in the pavement to mitigate the tripping hazard? Beyond that, charging at work is super helpful. Beyond that, download an app called Zap Map to help find your local charging points, and try utilising these public charge points when running errands like shopping etc. Every top-up will help but equally you don’t want to be going out your way. Also look into a Octopus Electroverse card for added convenience 👍

It is not an SUV, it will never be. It is a hatch or rather an MPV. Touareg, Q7, Cayenne are SUVish... Land Rover, Range Rover are kind of SUV. Tesla Y is a really nice MPV car with higher seating position.

Here are the key takeaways from the video "My Ultimate Tesla Model Y Family Car Review": 1. Affordability: The Tesla Model Y has become more affordable due to finance incentives like low APR and leasing rates. 2. Spaciousness: Compared to the Model 3, the Model Y offers more passenger space, especially beneficial for growing families. It has wider seats, more legroom, and reclining rear seats. 3. Child-friendly features: The seatbelt buckle design is more accessible for children, and there's no transmission hump in the middle seat footwell, providing more space. 4. Drivability: Despite its SUV size, the Model Y is responsive and handles well, with good traction even in the rear-wheel-drive version. 5. Charging and range: The reviewer experienced faster charging times than expected (45% to 85% in 18 minutes). The expanding network of charging stations makes road trips easier. 6. Entertainment system: The car features a robust entertainment system with various apps and streaming services. 7. Software features: Useful features like "Joe mode" for quieter notifications, sentry mode, and dashcam for security. 8. Autopilot: The standard Autopilot system helps reduce driver fatigue on highways, though full self-driving is more beneficial in the US. 9. Storage: The Model Y offers ample storage space, including a frunk, large boot, and various compartments throughout the vehicle. 10. Safety: Safety features are at the heart of the design, with easy-to-use child locks and passenger airbag controls. 11. Regular updates: The car receives free software updates that can enhance range, add features, and improve functionality. 12. Overall assessment: The reviewer considers the Tesla Model Y, even the RWD version, to be a great family SUV option, offering a good balance of practicality, affordability, and advanced features.

But it's so ugly, i tested this against the Kia ev6 and Polestar 2, the suspension on the model y is just too bad, i bought the Polestar, i couldn't live with such an ugly car , and i dont like only the central screen
@AdamWellinformed5 ай бұрын
@@matthiasschumann8448 This Berlin Model Y has seen some improvements. But looks are completely subjective. It’s why we need a variety of alternatives if that’s what matters to consumers. You like what you like at the end of the day. I drove a Polestar 2 for a few weeks, you can even find my review on it from a couple years back but that’s beyond the point here. Apart from the hatchback boot to my Model 3. I was reassured I had the Model 3. But we all prioritise different needs and wants from a car. The video pre-dominantly covers just the family needs side of things. Hope your Polestar 2 is treating you well.

Test me you’ve not test drove a 2024 Model Y without telling me you’ve not test drove a Model Y. No need to be so defensive, you drive what makes you happy. I’m not forcing you to drive anything here. I’m just a random dad on the internet telling other mums and dads if this vehicle is tailored to families.

@@AdamWellinformed off all the current gen EVs in this class out there, Tesla is just overall mediocre. Assistants not working, drives like a brick on wheels and who in their right mind would want a fake leather cabin for kids? Ive driven All Tesla and the only decent one is the S. You get what you pay for.
@AdamWellinformed5 ай бұрын
I have no idea what you’re talking about to be honest. Subjectively, there’s always bit and bobs from other cars that Tesla can use as inspiration to be even better. No perfect car exists. But I can assure you the other brands you talk about. They’re benchmarking against Tesla most of the time. For example, you pop open the bonnet and tell me how much frunk space you get in them. Gives you an idea on how they’re optimising their packaging to give families more usable storage space. To dismiss Tesla as a mediocre EV brand when it leads the segment is questionable. I’d like to hear more.
@Kanmandetdu5 ай бұрын
@@AdamWellinformed that might have been true 5 years ago - definitely not today. Tesla was first but when the gimmicks faded all there left is a mediocre albeit cheapish car with non functioning assistants. Frunk? Why would anyone suddenly need a frunk? Much rather have that space for the cabin. But I mean, to each their own, and if all you can afford as a family is a Tesla thats just how it is.
@AdamWellinformed5 ай бұрын
@Kanmandetdu true 5 years ago? I think you need another look around at the alternatives. What’s this non-functioning assistants you keep bringing up? You do realise that back in 2022 the Tesla Model Y got the highest safety assist score at 98%. It’s got even better since then, and the cars from 2022 will have been updated to. Name me a better alternative?
