I bought a second-hand Benz in the early 80s and had so much fun with this classic car. A 240 D, great and solid and reliable car also the pleasant and familiar sound of the diesel. Strong and reliable. Simple and yet chic. The Mercedes Benz star on the hood could be used as a guide when manoeuvring and cornering. A real pleasure to drive. More than 600,000 kilometers on the counter, still going strong. Even as a young man in good health just leaving the Marines, I pushed the car several times on my own and as it progressed I jumped in the car and easily got the engine going.

I’m going to order a closeout GSR Sport soon. And I’m wondering how you went about breaking in the engine?
@hondayamahafan3 күн бұрын
Dude that’s awesome! I’ve never had a GSR Sport but it’s on my list. For RC engines (23-36cc) I don’t really do anything for break in. It’s a weed wacker engine, just run it. I’ve had maybe 6 small bore engines so far and haven’t had an issue with any of them. Goped may have a break in procedure if you want to be really careful. The larger 46cc engines MUST be broken in according to the procedure in the manual.
@roycenimchuk84252 күн бұрын
@@hondayamahafan Okay great! that's all i was wondering. By the way It has the same 29cc engine that your sport has.

Rebuilding my sport with g290rc. Does anyone know if the throttle is supposed to stop before hitting the grips? Carb is opening all the way and it’s a stock cable. Thanks
@hondayamahafan19 күн бұрын
If the carb is opening all the way then it’s fine. You can also adjust the cable at the carb to take up any slack when it’s closed/in the idle position
@MichaelWard-mi3qf19 күн бұрын
Yeah carb is opening full. Lever just stops 3/4 of the way but maybe that’s the way it should be.

I tried to by that model of Lawn boy but the local Lawn Boy dealer didn't have one in stock but said he could get one in three days. I put money down on it but two months later I went and got my money back. I believe that he thought I would change my mind and buy one of the mowers he had in stock. He thought wrong. I had an older Lawn Boy that my aunt gave me when she got to old to mow her yard and it did a superb job of cutting grass. Then all of a sudden Lawn Boys came with 4 stroke engines and cheap stamped sheet metal decks which signaled the end of Lawn Boy. What a shame
@hondayamahafanАй бұрын
I don’t know the exact years of production but the M wasn’t around very long compared to the F series and the later E series Duraforce models. Stamped decks are way less interesting

Hey 👋🏽 I noticed you said...your not going to mix 25:1 .. ok.. the LH .motor was 2 piston rings .. the motor you have is an RC G230rc that's an race engine .. idk how you got that engine in there . They usually come on super sports ,super xpeds , and some xpeds .. The best oil to use is 927 Castrol oil gold and black bottle .. 25:1 you'll hit 35mph easy ..

That’s awesome and I’m jealous! I hope you make a video of it. Buying a brand new one made me want to buy another new one, it’s so much easier than rebuilding a ragged out used one😂
@briang44702 ай бұрын
You can still buy all the parts to piece together a "brand new" goped sport but goped isnt making anymore "turn key"/ "factory assembled" ones. The newer sports are overall much nicer than the older models and the gp290 engine has the perfect amount if power for a stock sport its much better than the old school g23lh or g2d.
@hondayamahafan2 ай бұрын
Having owned an old G23lh sport too, this one is way nicer
@Flickmasterflex2 ай бұрын
As an aussie I always wanted a goped when I was in my teens but they were pretty much impossible to get here. Nice to see you have a 'holden' in the back as well!

@madmike41282 ай бұрын
Newer goped stuff they cheaped out on some things the old ones are much better
@briang44702 ай бұрын
Nah, the newer gopeds are way better (except the super xped the original was better). The newer mach12 wheels are far superior to the 3 spoke wheels that always cracked, the gp290 engine will run circles around a g23lh or g2d engine, the newer ones have nicer handle bars and throttle lever, better grips and the newer style frames are actually more reinforced and much stronger than the old style frames. The older ones are just more nostalgic.

wth that thing looks so fun! i've never ridden a gas powered scooter like that but it looks like such a great time! maybe not necessarily with maintenance. it's too bad they're gonna stop selling these new
@hondayamahafan2 ай бұрын
They are super fun! Maintenance/modifying is half of the hobby. They’ll still sell the rolling chassis for these (provide your own engine) or you can buy the new 4 stroke GSR. GSR air tire peds are leaps and bounds more stable and faster than these hard tire sports but also larger and more complex
@SirLucian692 ай бұрын
i guess i’m just scared of maintenance cuz i don’t have any experience in it yet 🤦♂️ but otherwise that’s sick. i just checked out their website and they have so many great options. i was surprised by them selling normal kick scooters for like $250 and that just seems a little too overpriced. is that the model where you can put your own engine? all the models look like so much fun

Best feeling ever, I’m 32 years old I’ll never forget when I got my very first brand new one when I was like 15, prior to that I always had used ones. Fast-forward to when COVID started I bought one brand new and it was like reliving that moment all over again lol. I have a few peds now and a lot of money invested into them they mostly sit, but I love it for the nostalgia.

That’s awesome! I always wanted one, then I bought a clapped out sport when I was 20, and now I’m 27 got back into it again. I’ve built 3 more this year. I don’t ride them a ton but I enjoy the hell out of riding them and building them!

I have this car in a 2 door version. Mine is called the Continental Town Coupe instead a the Town Car because it’s a 2 door. Mine has smaller fender skirts and my dashboard is different. Those are the changes for 79. Also you can only get the 400 engine on the 79 model. The car has been very good to me. I have a few videos of mine posted if you want to see it.

Bro I wish I had that bike today. No play in the crank. Everything was solid it shifted. I would have had that dirt bike back together and running in a couple of days. Even with a shit cylinder hone the shit out of it and new rings and a piston the rod and bottom end was solid. Just looks like someone ran that bike on pure gas and melted the piston without enough two stroke oil lol super easy top end rebuild on a 90s bike that would have been awesome to have to beat on lol

When it came out for the 1993 model year, the 7.3L IDI turbo diesel was not given much of a boost over the non-turbo original as at the same time, Navistar was also developing its new direct-injected "Power Stroke" 7.3L turbo diesel for Ford that showed up in mid-1994; only the Power Stroke version would return for 1995.

Removing the trim and putting the nicer wheels made all the difference in the world appearance wise. I just bought one of the ranch trucks from my dad a month ago. It is a 91 F250 5 speed regular cab long wheelbase 2WD and since then I have fallen in love with IDIs! They are simple, super rugged, get decent mileage and ,like you mentioned, they sound badass!
