Thanks for posting this. I was at this game, way up in the nosebleeds. The Bulls definitely let this game get away from them. But it was a whole series of unlikely events, like the 5-second inbounds violation on Scottie and Ceballos's ridiculous corner 3, that helped Dallas catch up and force overtime. The other funny thing is that when Chicago was up by 15 or 17 in the fourth, a lot of fans started leaving. By the time Dallas tied the game, there were a lot of empty seats. But like the video shows, the crowd got very loud at the end for the Mavericks' comeback, but it wasn't even a full crowd making that much noise.

This was probably the Bulls most surprising loss during the 2nd 3-peat, the only game that even comes relatively close was the loss against the expansion Raptors in 95-96.

I would actually put the Heat winning with only eight players dressed after a multi-player trade that was to land them Tim Hardaway in the 96 season right up there, too. That Heat squad had no business being able to win that game.

This was back when regular season games were exhilarating and exciting. Unlike to current NBA where its boring until about the Playoff Conference Finals - and thats in a good year. Some seasons nowadays are boring throughout the season annnnd playoffs.

The Mavs never led in regulation….. and somehow won

This happened fairly frequently back then. Homecourt advantage really meant something. I’m guessing this was a back to back game for the Bulls too. Nobody took games off back then. The Bulls ran out of gas at the end. Michael Finley must have scored at least 40, he seemed to be the bulk of their offense.

11:59 The inbound/throw-in official blew it here. He starts his count too soon and it's less than five seconds before he blows the whistle. Horrible time to screw up a call. Would Pippen have called a timeout or gotten the ball in play? Maybe, maybe not but he didn't get five seconds.

Wow! The Bulls gave this game away! Cost them homecourt advantage in the Finals.

For the life of me I’m still puzzled how the Bulls blew this game, in OT they look visibly shook.

Yeah and that was a terrible Mavs team. It's one of the games that made the Bulls look very beatable heading towards the playoffs.

@@UpTheDown7 Yeah, no. Enormous difference between beating this Bulls team once and beating them in a playoff series.

@@UpTheDown7 Frankly, it's a rare occurrence on social media sites because quite a few people post nonsensical comments. Like yours. The Bulls beat themselves in this game. You don't have a leg to stand on here. Move along, kiddo.
