I agree with you Joe!!! From Highway to the danger Zone to Whenever I call you Friend to folk singer House at Pooh Corner. Michael McDonald when he came to the Doobie Brothers is when I started listening to them! I was in love with his voice and him! Greatest songs of all time to the two of them. Because I go by my first two initials people assume I am a bro, but I am a sister! I am going to be 63 this month, and even though your Brothers need to go and listen to 60's and 70's music!! From rock to folk!! Look I have a huge list of songs I do from the 1920 - through the mid 60's when I was growing up! I am a retired music therapist, and I still listen to today's artists! We have to keep our minds expanding!!!

He's right about the voice, but you gotta have the big time hits to back it up. He's got 2 of the biggest in Footloose and Danger Zone, but then what? Maybe, I'm alright (Caddyshack theme song) or I'm Free (Heaven Helps the Man) also from the Footloose album. On the other if you listen to few Kenny Loggins songs you can hear the versatility and how if he had been born at a different time his voice would have fit perfectly into a boy band, like New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys or Insync.

Joe is right. The "color" of Kenny Loggins' voice is overall pleasant- nobody could say he doesn't have a pleasant sound. (Some artists voices are acquired tastes.) He can also emote and do riffs really well.

I love Pat Benatar!! She is not a crossover artist! Loggins started in the 60's with Messina. Great Folk/pop duo! Loggins has written Folk, Rock and Pop music!! That is quite a feet to make number one in three different genres of music!! That was the point Joe was making. He wasn't taking away from the other artists. Look I am 63 and I like Billie Eilish, Lizzy, Dosha Kat, Meghan Trainor, Christi Perri to name a few!! I love everything from classical, jazz, rock, rhythm and blues, folk, blues, rap to pop!! I agree with you but trying to point out Joe' answer

@@PJThomson-p8iI know Joe wasn't insulting Pat Benatar, he just likes Kenny better, and that's okay. My response was meant to be taken in a lighthearted way to say her vocals are just as good in my opinion. Pat Benatar has pop elements in many of her songs and many publications have classified her as both contemporary pop and rock for that reason and that's what I (and maybe Andy too) was going off of. But yes, I feel she is a rock artist.
