David R Lentz, USA Truly wonderful! I can see in all you do here the potential for astoundingly photo-realistic miniature settings of great fidelity, realism, and scope. I suggest having set-pieces that are modular, so that they closely can interlink with other such segments. This a two-level operation: 1) 3D printing relatively small parts, figures, equipment (wheel barrow, waggon, water well, etc.), and 2) Woodland Scenics’s various materials for scratch-building open terrain. Have you heard of Luke Towan? Find him on KZbin (though I suppose he is elsewhere online, as well) I think he designs freestanding building miniatures using some sort of laser technology to cut from this relatively slender (I make a rough eyeball estimate of round 6 mm, or 0.25” in thickness), medium-brown sheet of what looks to be wood; it is much smoother in texture, much finer in grain, so it may be some sort of press-board or composite organic materials (sawdust?), drawing the resources of a number of aftermarket enterprises, to develop his own approach to diorama planning, design, assembly, construction, etc. My point is to exhort you lot to use his methods, materials, etc., to augment all that you do here. I most assuredly will urge that he reciprocate, adapting his methods to incorporate what you folks (as involved as all this is, I infer several of you; or at least, you know quite a troupe of Hobbit artisans!) at Real Terrain Hobbies bring to the field. To combine your 3D printing and the adaptability, flexibility, etc., of Woodland Scenics’s eclectic, comprehensive assortment of diorama scratch-building materials with their laser cutting technology not only will improve significantly the various efforts you do, and ease the labour-intensive projects you undertake, it greatly will strengthen both your operations, through augmenting one another.

Neil, I've been subscribed to your channel for years now and can't believe I've only just seen this video. You made comment about the honor to work with Jazza and how he has so many subscribers. Can I just say, dispite this clip only just coming up in my feed and aligning with his video I've only been subscribed to his channel for a few months. I second Jazza in saying that you produce incredible terrain and should be immensely commended on the sheer quality of what you produce!

It's not really so much mold on the stone walls as much as it is saltpeter that the stones, usually sandstone here in Germany, soak UP through the ground from the high water table... that means some streaking from the ground up. Great video! I wish that I could find formwork here...

Awesome project! Just a small piece of feedback that I had a pretty hard time listening and had to stop the video because you say the word "Uh" about every 5 to 10 words. You're quite well spoken and coherent otherwise, so I wonder if it would help with your presentation to practice intentionally speaking without using the word, even if you have to pause for a moment.

Das Prinzip ist eigentlich nicht schlecht , ABER dennoch unrealistisch in der Stein Struktur ! Da ein kreisrunder Abdruck entsteht , wiederholt sich der Abdruck so das es vorne wie hinten gleich aussieht was in der Natur nicht vorkommt . Je kleiner die Rolle , je öfter die Wiederholungen , je gleichmäßiger die Struktur, je unrealistischer !

I made a miniature house and I used Popsicle sticks for shingles. It took over a week to make and it’s just a little crooked. But it was a great job for a first time and no directions. I just freehanded it….

I just watched his video and saw his it was pretty cool .... Then I came to yours and you've really done an excellent job... I feel such confusion when I watch your show. Are these buildings considered precious? Or are are they only meant to last a few years? You put so much care, skill and knowledge into your buildings, and they are stunning but, I see high pH (acidic) materials, and a lack of supports. Acid materials can eat your art! Wondering about the future would make it hard to enjoy the build in the present.
