Jim Jackson, your honesty is like a breath of fresh air! Thankyou! As you say, Flyers desperately need help at center and their power play is on life support. It's important to bring these issues to the forefront and handle them immediately, and not sweep them under the rug in order to sell tickets. Us fans are not stupid!

Great show again guys! I can’t wait to see if Michkov has some sort of trickle down effect on the team. I know people are thinking they’ll finish lower but I can see them making the playoffs if a couple players take strides.

The CAP is Weaponized by teams, where teams in Some States do nothaveincome tax. Then there are CanadianTeams with their Socialized Tax System. It is conversation that has to be addressed. Looking back to 1974 as the New York Islanders took part in their third draft in team history, they Selected Clark Gillies in the first round, Bryan Trottier in the second. In that same draft Stefan Pearson, after Kansas city Scouts drafted Bob Bourne, the Islanders traded for him. 74 was crucial for the Islanders, who from their start in 72 were committed to Smart drafting and player development. O that the Flyers under Danny Briere, who has said Flyers are in a Complete Rebuild and Overhaul of everything through draft capital and player development would emulate the 74 Islanders and more recent Steve Yzerman, who's been in a Complete Rebuild for the last five years and claims RedWings aren't finished in that regard.

My prediction is Torts starts the season with Michkov centered by Coots. Creating a challenge for Frost to earn the right to play with the wizard winger. Eventually, Frost and Michkov will unite, and we'll see Frost turn into a ppg center.

I kind of agree. Will be a trial this season to see if any can pan out. If not, with 6 picks in the first 60 picks next draft the flyers will have a lot of options of what they want to do with filling the center position.

I personally see Frost with Foerster on the other flank. Because, Michkov can shoot or dish. It would be good to have a solid goal scorer on the other wing.

Datsyuk is my favorite player without a doubt so if michkov is anything like him then that would be amazing! Watching him play tho I see more Kucherov in his game more than Datsyuk specifically because of the one timer he likes to set up for. Datsyuk wasn’t the biggest one timer guy but could let it rip if he wanted to for sure. Defensively I think he is sneaky with the steals but we’ll see if that translates to his nhl game. Can’t wait for next season 💪🏻⚫️🟠

So far this isn't a rebuild. Rebuilding teams don't waste roster spots on a 37 year old defenseman or extending a mid 30s 4th line plug. Rebuilding teams also dont entertain extending a winger to a massive 8 year deal that said winger will be going into his age 29 season when it kicks in. Its a disjointed retool.

Going to have to disagree there. They'll have the second youngest team in the league next season. And they've acquired multiple picks for 2025. Pretty clear what they're trying to do. You can't just ship out every single veteran. You need some of those guys to help the young players develop and assimilate to the NHL level. Look at teams that tore it down completely to the studs in the past and sure there's some success stories but it isn't fool proof. Just look at the Sabres for example. Thanks for listening!

@vasiligianarakos1261 Let's compare the Flyers prospect pool vs the Blackhawks and how that prospect pool was acquired. Again, if you aren't tearing it down which clearly Comcast won't do, threading that needle in finding high end talent becomes infinitely harder. I wish Breire lots of luck but I'm very skeptical in his approach so far.

21-22. Season under Fletcher was the exact opposite of a Rebuild. In the Summer of 21 Flyers went all out to be as competitive as possible adding Ellis and So many veterans. 22-23 they were criticized for not having a definite plan, on some occasions stating Rebuild most often stating retool. This Season was contridictive and unstable. As already stated on this page , Rebuild started with the hiring of Danny Briere and nothing sooner. I appreciate your Podcast, with all of the research and Sacrificing you do because you give us hockey year round. But I'm afraid your presupposition regarding an all out and Complete Rebuild and your contempt for it causes you to make a statement Briere is headed towards the fourth year of the Rebuild. Thanks for the coolest game on earth in the hottest time of the year.

Pointing out the obvious: Year 2 of the rebuild began July 1. Rebuild began when Danny was hired. Chuck never rebuilt, never wanted to.

@@flyersnittygritty Chuck refused to say rebuild and only spoke of making the playoffs until his last day. The Giroux trade was his best move, but it was one move. Flyers drafted 5th because they were terrible, not because anyone plotted that course. The furthest back the rebuild could be said to have begun was when Dan Hilferty was hired at the beginning of 2023. Rebuild means intent to do so. Neither Chuck nor his boss ever intended to rebuild.

There def was some sort of issue. However, Kolosov recently (I believe) posted a picture on one of those social media platforms wearing a Phantoms jersey & his airbrushed Flyers mask. I feel for him, it’s not easy going to a new country not speaking the language. Most likely he’ll be here for training camp, being that he is under contract and can’t play anywhere else. Well he can, but he will be penalized. No international competition.

I agree 100% with Vasili and Steve and would have picked Helenius at the 13th spot. When the Flyers go on their own and ignore the polls, they usually don't fare well. Jay O'Brien was ranked to be picked in the second round ( in the 30's) , but the Flyers overreacted and picked him at 19th. How did that turn out? German Rubstov was also a surprise pick at the 22nd spot in 2016. How did that turn out? Jett Luchanko was ranked in the middle to lower 20's, and the Flyers overreacted and picked him at 13th. How is this going to turn out? We'll see.🤞🤞🤞

5 years of "Rebuilding (10 really) and this team has ONE elite level prospect. They've done NOTHING new. Horrible trades sending Elite prospects out (Gauthier) for BUSTS that haven't played in two seasons. (Drysdale) Holding onto mediocre Veterans that should have been sold for picks and a better draft lottery position. (Laughton, Seeler, Ristolainen, etc. etc.) Turning down a 1st for Laughton? 🤦🏻♂️🤡 Signing Seeler. 🤦🏻♂️🤡 Signing Hathaway. 🤦🏻♂️🤡 Couturier signed into late 30s on a HORRIBLE contract looking 31 going on 40. Konecny's still here asking for a 10m aav. 70 point ceiling 1 goal in 22 playoff games Konecny wants to get paid like Tkachuk. And Flyers think he's going to turn into Marchand (doesn't make that much) all of a sudden. Failed to sell the 12th, 32nd, and LATE AF Avs 1st in 2025 for a 4th overall Elite Level prospect? Seriously? Why!? Too add 3 more low talent bottom6/bottom pair ceiling prospects? No significant trades or signings for ANY Elite talent in DECADES!!! This team is the absolute definition of mediocrity!!! And is heading NOWHERE fast. AGAIN! AND THE WORST PART is the gaslighting and lying about a LEGIT "REBUILD" while they make the same 🤡💩 moves that got us into this position over the last DECADE! No playoffs. No top5 picks. No Elite Level prospects (but Michkov) No future 1C. No future 2C. No future 1D. No future star goaltender. There are no high 1st round picks here. Worst PP in the league for 3 YEARS!!! And they try to make the playoffs (AGAIN) and FAIL to sell off veterans (AGAIN) and continue the same 🤡🌎💩 agenda that failed us with Hextall. So WTF exscly is new aside from Michkov? Good point guys, you need protection of the younger players. Nick, Garnett, and Seeler provides protection for younger players as they develop. There are some players from other teams who would love to abuse Matvie etc. Makes them think twice about hurting our players. Cap hit is not important with their salaries.

@TradingIsLife420 Elite and 2C are very different things. I also wouldn’t count out Luchanko quite yet and Barkey still has high upside. So we don’t really know what he will end up being. If he was bigger he would have easily been a top 20 pick.
