I don't read a lot of horror/thriller, but I do want to branch out a bit. I'm a bit interested in the Kate Alice Marshall one, because I've read something from her before and it was... okay? and I'm a little curious about Something in the Walls, based on the cover alone.

obviously everyone can like what they like, no question, but it is a huge pet peeve of mine, 'oh I hate older books, oh I hate movies in black and white. do you realize what you read today is built on these things? I just cannot even wrap my head around attitudes like that.

I do realize that, I said that in the video when I finished Rosemary's Baby. I have tried so many older books and don't like the writing style so personally I'd rather just read books that I will like instead of continuing to read books I likely won't just because they influenced future things

Great video, I think your frame rate on your camera may be off though. The clips of other videos seemed fine but your footage was a bit off. I also hated someone in the attic

I don't hear Confessions mentioned very often! As for the worst books, I might pick up Twenty-Seven Minutes. I don't mind slower books when the characters are interesting, and I've been meaning to pick up more literary fiction!

I love this trope as well! One by One was sooo good! Have you read, City Under One Roof by Iris Yamashita? I did a review on it. It is set in a real life setting in Alaska! My goal is to reach 500 subscribers and I have a long way to go, but I'm having so much fun! I love this community! ☺

I don't do mine in the specific month either, it's too hard to line up with library holds. Love your extra challenges! I have two 2025 thrillers with "lie" words on my tbr - Party of Liars by Kelsey Cox and Count My Lies by Sophie Stava, just in case either of them interest you! 📚

I'm also participating in both Buzzword challenges. Since I'm a mood reader, I've created a Google Doc with options for each prompt. However, I can give you one of my options for each prompt. In Jan, I read Love and Lies Vol. 1 by Musawo for “Truth” and “Lies” and Dragonwyck by Anya Seton for “Pattern.” * February - Not Even the Sound of a River by Helene Dorion for "Water-related words," and Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy for "Skyline." * March - I Believe in a Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo for "Thing" and The Secret, Book, & Scone Society by Ellery Adams for "Books." * April - A Siege of Bitterns by Steve Burrows and Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco for "Animals" * May - To the Forest by Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette for "To" and "Too," and The Forest of a Thousand Eyes by Frances Hardinge for "Eyes" * June - Forgotten by Catherine McKenzie for "Memory-related words" and The Time Collector by Gwendolyn Womack for "Celestial Objects" * July - The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson for "Punctuation" and Confessions of an Imposter Room Mom by Courtney Henning Novak for "Technology" * August - Since I Was Abandoned After Reincarnation, I Will Cook With My Fluffy Friends by Yu Sakurai for "With" and The Longest Night by Andria Williams for "Transportation" * September - An Arranged Marriage by Jo Beverley for "Events" and Lone Player by Julia Rosemary Turk for "Foliage" * October - Magical Beatdown by Jenn Woodall for "Violent words" and The Ruptured Sky by Jessica A. McMinn for "Weapon" * November - Everything We Never Knew by Julianne Hugh and Ellen Goodlett for "Never" and Coffee, Cars, and Necromancy by Neen Cohen for "Food and/or Drink." * December - The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov for "Alliteration" and The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin for "Monochromatic"
