This is a TCL 55S431 LCD TV that is only two years old and I diagnosed it as a defective LCD panel.

Well, Samsung have had this issue, more so than other companies for some years now... and TCL are basically just shoddily-made Samsung sets (they bought Samsung's LCD panel operations) so, yeah, no surprise.

I've seen videos where you cover like six to eight lines with scotch tape and the whole screen comes out or maybe 12 lines with tape

Exactly what I was thinking

Last time I also facing the same problem with samsung tv. I just tape couple of random pin on the ribbon cable, and button it back up, and the screen work again but with missing very small horizontal line. Customer satisfied with it and give me RM50 for that 😅.

Try switching the cables between from bad side to good side, does the good side still work? Compare both connectors contacts in diode mode, you will probably see one of the data lines shorted. Not sure how you should compare, cable plugged or not... would do plugged in at start and go from there...

try isolating some tracks of that cable with thin tape and a very good chance it will work again I did try that method and it worked

the more modernized these TVs the more problematic they became
@jasejjАй бұрын
@@kahlid-ataya That is far too kind. The truth is they are getting cheaper and cheaper and less reliable as a result. Race to the bottom - there's no reason modern sets couldn't be totally reliable but they'd cost double what they do now and probably twice the thickness.
