Honestly, a lot of people have died because they underestimated the size, terrain, and weather of the West. Going out without being fully prepared, exceeding one's fitness limits, getting caught in situations and areas one's not prepared for, have been the end of trailhands a lot more seasoned than Becky. People disappear every year never to be seen again. But our heroine is tough and sensible and handled it wonderfully!

Yay, you were in my neck of the woods!! (Grew up in BC, now living in Banff). The mountain weather sure is wild how fast it changes 😂 Next time you’re back I’d love to give you some killer recommendations for the most gorgeous hikes in the world around the Rockies! The touristy spots in Banff are crazy haha, but there’s literally thousands of stunning backcountry hikes where you’ll see no one for days once you’re away from the main road-side spots. 🥰 Looking forward to seeing what you got up to!

Becky, first of all congratulations on your great accomplishment. And am thankful you are safe. Your trip was not one without literally many dangers to life and limb. I look forward to the detail videos to come!

Hi Becky For America, Canada or Alaska you really need a camping truck (pickup converted for camping) then you can load bike, canoe, paddle board etc. You also need 3-6 months each trip. I hope you can find a way to do that either solo or paired up with a fellow you tuber, maybe a native of the appropriate country. Otherwise you will see too little of these wonderful places. The vehicle also enables you to adjust plans more easily. Maybe land rover would sponsor you as they don’t seem to be big with the travelling campers, except for Eva Zu Beck.

You should come back packing in the Yukon Territory. It’s parked right beside Alaska we have bigger and better mountains than Banff. The Yukon is over 3 times larger than England. 28.1 million hectares of forest. Only About 40000 people live here and most of them in Whitehorse our capital city. Lots of lakes and rivers Lots of bears. Good times. plenty of hiking opportunities

True, Canada is massive, trails are dispersed, weather not predictable, planning is difficult. Answer....Contact Joe Robinet in northern Ontario, plan a few weeks canoe trip, bushcraft sharing, paddling, fishing, hiking, and companionship of kindred spirits. That would make touring a specific area focused and quite interesting. Just a thought.....Cheers!

Jasper and Banff really are overrun with tourists... you might have had a quieter time in Willmore Wilderness Park. It's similar in terms of scenery and weather but it's also very isolated. We're definitely lacking in transportation options in Canada - if you don't drive, it's really tough to get around, especially in western Canada. But it sounds like you made the best of the situation and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your trip!

It is not surprising that public transit in the rural areas do not compare to the UK. England's population density per sq km is about 440 compared to Alberta's 6.35 and B.C. at 4.8. In Canada, rural transit systems are not financially viable for the private and public sectors.

Public transport IS terrible here compared to U.K. and Europe. We have to be more self-reliant to explore Canada but it is worth it. Fire, floods, snow, and natural predators can sometimes happen in the mountains and the North which makes it true wilderness. I hope your next visit goes as planned.
