If a video game had realistik physics in medevial setting then Lars could do this in the game , but physics are simplified in modern games due to visuals are way more important and real physics will get fps down to less than 3 , Visuals on a wall are fake but if its calculated by the mesh... you need 64 cores i assume so we wont see lars style of archery in the next 20 years from EA or any other game maker

The more the ancient stories and myths are studied, the more the elements of truth are found. Some claims were actually witnessed, not made up. The ancient story collators didn't have a fiction ideology, they were more or less chronicling the times.

This modern obsession with arrows penetrating armour arises from a misunderstanding of medieval warfare. Medieval archers shot arrows which slid into the gaps between the armour plates or which struck the horse...also being hit with an arrow shot from a 160 lbs or 120 lbs war bow was like being hit by that force - several times a minute - it was enough to break up a charge, unhorse the knight, or dent his armour enough to make it difficult for him to fight! The English for example, had archers in their army outnumbering other troops by 4:1 at Agincourt...8000 archers and only 1500 other troops, 8000 archers shooting into a narrow frontage that spanned 500 to 800 horses abreast.... assuming the archers were mostly accurate, then average of 6 to 10 arrows hit a knight every 10 seconds.... imagine the horses and riders being subjected to this intense hailstorm of arrows, and only 1 out of 10 arrows need to hit an unprotected part of a horse, or through the gaps between armour plates, and the rider and horses would have been taken down! Armour evolved through the ages, early medieval armour was far more vulnerable to arrows compared to late medieval armour....so it's quite misleading to focus so much attention on the question of whether an arrow could penetrate armour plate as if it representef the effectiveness of bows against armoured Knights. No, the archers could break up a charge regardless of if arrow could penetrate armour plate.

23:11 So, the meta seems very Eurocentric - very focused on longbows and heavy armor. Historically, there have been other situations. South America is notoriously iron poor. Other places and periods were dominated by nomads with light horseback cavalry. The British longbow very much fit the circumstance, while American Indians, facing mostly basic breastplate due to logistics, did remarkable stuff with much lighter bows.

Stacks everything in his favour deceptively. Arrows still barely stick to the armour, not going deep at all. Stop with the damn twirls you look like an absolute dweeb.

I'm very suspicious of Lar's demonstration. Tod used as historically accurate as possible armor, properly and well made as someone noble could afford to do. Lar's is using what I can only assume is cheaper, less tempered armor. While it's true that armor in the middle ages could have uneven chemistry and some parts could be weaker, it's pretty well founded that properly armored knights weren't very easily killed by bows. It was their horses that were killed, and then they would be attacked by either other soldiers or the archer's themselves with their daggers.
