Practice pulling with a bow that is hard but not impossible to pull. Shoot with a much weaker bow than the max you can pull (Lars actually uses a 52lb bow most of the time, probably can pull a 75lbs bow without too much trouble). Bow shoulder down to avoid injury. Use both sides as equally as possible to avoid long term injury. Search up Armin Hirmer - simple khatra. Focus on the target, really want to hit the target. The rest is practice. You will be able to hit moving fist-sized targets at 10 yards right from the start... it is quite instinctual for humans to do... Moving 3d targets are easier to hit than stationary and or flat targets because of how we pick up on exact locations from 3d and movements...

@@jamesgrist1101 Maybe. That is just your speculation and a bit of a silly fallback position after he already debunked the "he can't do it repeatedly" claim. But sure, perhaps in pure target shooting, he would fall behind a dedicated target shooter. That seems likely. But can the dedicated target shooter get off three SUCCESSIVE shots precise enough to sever a cord in the SAME SPAN OF TIME that Lars does here?
@n0wheregrrl5 жыл бұрын
@@jamesgrist1101 And to further address your question, asking why he doesn't compete in target shooting competitions is a little like asking why someone specialized in historical rapier fencing doesn't compete in modern sport fencing or why a mixed martial artist doesn't compete as a professional boxer. The answer is that in both cases, the one discipline is superficially similar to the other but actually quite different. At a modern target shooting archery competition, it won't matter that Lars can shoot 10 arrows in less than 5 seconds (or 4 or 5 in the same time if he's going for more precision). It won't matter that he can shoot while on the move or from odd positions. It won't matter that he can make an arrow's path curve to accurately hit a target. All that will matter is how well he can stand perfectly still and fire a single arrow perfectly straight from a normal position with no real time crunch. In that situation, he'll be up against people who specialize in doing just that, and he won't stand out. To be honest, he might not even place. But, to steal a movie line: put the clock on them, put the game on speed, and I bet he'll chew them all right up. Short answer: no competition currently exists for the kind of shooting Lars does. Doesn't mean it's not legit.

I have the same idea, maybe we can share some ideas
@giovannigarciadesouzapasto22495 жыл бұрын
@@Hans-cs1is, There are two main approaches from me to the matter: one is just some roleplaying adaptations, the other is to transform it into a fighting style, which can be used by ranger and fighter. From the roleplaying, there is an issue and some minor modifications. Lars uses a shortbow. The damage for longbow is 1d8 versus 1d6 for the shortbow; short and long range are way higher in the longbow than in the shortbow. So, everyone that uses a shortbow is actually penalised for that, for there is no benefit, not even in shorter ranges or move speed. But if you put in the shortbow some stats from the long one, like damage and the short range, it gets interesting. You keep the long range as it is, it's gotta have a limit, he may fire it very well, but it is not a longbow, and in the end of the day, there is a talent, if I remember well, that ignores the penalties for the long range of the bows, so, in the end, this difference really doesn't matter. What you do next is you're gonna pretend you're firing 2 times, but rolling only one dice to hit and to damage. You expend 2 arrows and you roleplay your attack, as you're calculating damage as if you were firing one shot of a longbow. There is no multitargeting or splitting damage between targets for this option. Ranger and warrior have got multiple attacks, so you can fire that much arrows times 2, or if you like, you can make your character develop and fire 3 times per attack, buuuut still calculating damage as a standard longbow. If your GM doesn't like to deviate from the book, that's a nice alternative. Sure, you're sort of penalising your character, but if your plan is not to number crunch your way through the campaign, it's no big deal and you've got your super archer, by the time your high level, you're gonna be heroic like everyone else in the party. the other one I'll describe later
