This is the best job I could ever imagine. I lived in Great Falls, MT for a couple years and worked as a HEMS paramedic and loved every moment! I can’t imagine something more glorious than being isolated in such a beautiful place! I’m a big ol’ introvert anyway, and this sounds just like heaven to me!

As far as cheesy snackage goes, I’m a big proponent of the OG. A nice big block of sharp cheddar cheese, cutting it up, and eating it with some pretzels. I find it to be the ultimate combination. Peanut butter and jelly couldn’t hold a candle to it😂

I appreciate your demeanor. I've started watching your videos just for you. Which I feel like is rare these days because so many people add so much extra content into their videos. You are just you. I actually got some flag nor fail stuff just because you were wearing it and it looked nice. Not sure you've even mentioned them lol. Keep doing you.

not a chef either, but spent 30 years cooking for a family of 10. :) My family. kids are grown and gone. Each day I learn something new when I cook. I cook large meals now twice a week instead of every day. Twice a week because we have family gatherings that often, where the kids and their significant others come to mom and dad's for a family meal. I can honestly say, I have never made the same meal the same way more than once. every time is unique. cook to your tastes, not someone elses. tomorrow, ham and bean soup. should be quite tasty. and no, I don't use a recipe.

Merry Christmas! Thanks for the support on this upload. Def always try to leave the site the same/better than I come across it. Most likely wouldn't have recovered the pit but def something that was right to do. Cheers and see you in 2025 for more videos!
@Tennessee-ExplorerКүн бұрын
@ well you set a good example by recovering it, very important. So many people learn everything these days from KZbin. In the South, we often camp on grass. I just cut pieces of sod when digging the pit and sit it aside for the recovery later. You can’t tell that anything was ever there when I am done.

Great video. Really enjoyed it. I have worked with a state forest service for 40 years. I spent my first 10-12 years as a lookout in a fire tower. I spent a lot of hours in the tower. It is a different place to be during lightning storms or windy days. The fire towers in our area are 84 feet off of the ground to the floor height. They are all metal tower structures. Even the cabin on top has just metal sheeting covering the metal frame. Scary whenever lightning storms popped up. High winds would cause the tower to sway and cause the metal siding to pop and bang loud when higher wind gust would hit them. They were grounded well, and when lightning would strike the tower it would usually just go through the frame and to the ground. But it was always a wild ride. But the fire towers are no longer used in our area now. Times and technology has changed everything. It seems a shame to me knowing that the people that work in forestry here now will never have that experience. I feel blessed to have worked during those times.
@hunter_pauleyКүн бұрын
Thank you! I appreciate sharing your awesome story as well. Always great to hear from those who have spent time in these towers! Cheers.

@hunter_pauleyКүн бұрын
It really is! Does the water rise quite a bit in the summer? I think I remember someone saying you can really only access parts during the winter when the water is low. Didn't know it was old native land!

How come you went back to the Milwaukee bar?
@hunter_pauleyКүн бұрын
The bar I was using was the "GO Electric Brand with their chain. It was popping off periodically and when looking at the bar on the milwaukee vs GO, they are just SLIGHTLY different. Pretty sure the chain is just a bit longer so I couldn't tighten it enough. I need to find a milwaukee chain and I think it will work better.

Okay okay! That's it. Sod the UK! I'm moving to Montana and building a cabin at this spot. 😂 Wow! Fantastic location and drone footage. I love maps and enjoy trying to figure out where you are, although I agree and understand exact locations must be kept confidential. You were quite near to the Canadian border. I was very surprised to see a beach in Montana! Never expected that. The water is such a beautiful colour. Another point - were the insides of the trees you were sawing for the fire red? Unsure if it was just the light. When you were sawing them and laying them down, they looked red on the inside but later once you'd lit the fire they looked less so. From the internet rabbit hole I went down, the insides of some trees are intensely red (like boxelders) and the pigments are called anthocyanins. There are various hypotheses as to why there are such high levels of anthocyanins in some trees. It's speculated that it is either to do with defence against potential harm such as fungi etc or with attracting insects and birds etc to help spread its abundance. Quite fascinating. Thanks so much again for the fantastic content! Hope you're having a wonderful Christmas day with your family and all your loved ones, especially Odi (I love when you rub his head and his hair stands up. 💜). Safe travels, have fun and see you in 2025! Damn those cinnamon rolls.
