Great video as ever, keep up the good work! I’m just about to do my yearly service on my Merc 20hp EFI and I realised tonight that I could save money by buying the items I need separately rather than as part of a Service Kit - the kit I’d been buying had an impeller and a fuel filter which I don’t necessarily need. It’s going to cost me £73 instead of £105

I always wondered if those Tohatsu outboards were reliable, thanks for the video
@spinaway7 сағат бұрын
Great video, but i would like to point out, that always start and run the engine after changing the filter, as the oil level will drop slightly, due to filter being empty.

That’s a good point to make, thanks for sharing

Good video, and I enjoyed watching. I have the same outboard. Can you run the outboard on the water with the cover on.Thanks Steve 👍

Thanks for this Oban.. Easy to follow & do.

Oban. Come on. Make the effort. No blue all in one overalls, no sticky tape holding your glasses together, no rollup hanging out the side of your mouth. You didn't even sharply pull some air in through your lips and say, "it's gonna cost". Very informative video. I'd feel quite comfortable doing mine now. All I need is to get my jeans half way down my legs, so the customers can pay me by rolling pound coins down my a*se crack.

I find a heavy leader with enough length to hand line helps when rock fishing. Not sure the fish care too much.

Hi Oban cracking video. I am on holiday near Coverack in July and I am taking my 3.6 m sib and 6 hp ob. I will be sticking close to the shore line fishing for bass with lures. What weight rod or rods would you recommend and what reel? Tight lines

Really excellent- I've had little 'inflatable tenders' for ages but my 'new' Honwave 3.8 opens up so much more to me; use it much more than my sailing boat- thanks for all your expertise !

Lovely stuff matey. I have launched off there many a time in the past with my small clinker when I lived in Liskeard. One important thing is if you are trying to get out in an incoming spring make sure you have enough engine gruff to cut the mustard, I have been caught a few times in making no headway past the bridge. Ended up just flattie fishing the other side of it in the estuary.

You could lay out a small plastic tarp on the ground behind the van to lay the boat on. That way itll protect the cones from abrasions.

Great action there. Do you use barbless hooks these days? I’ve not fished in ages and was wondering as to the correct way to fish. Thanks.
@obanonthewater779614 күн бұрын
Barbless for freshwater and barbed for saltwater is usually my rule of thumb. I do try and switch trebles to singles when the hooks need changing

Good advice to take your rods down going under the bridge. I USED to have a radar on my boat until I tried to get under on a 4.8 tide. Doh.

Another cracking video Oban. Looking forward to more inspiration in 2025. I bought a new Honwave T38 with Suzuki DF20 a year ago. Regrettably the Suzuki has been nothing but trouble which i regret buying. Warranty is all but useless IMO and after much research, it would appear the "Lean-Burn" technology has flaws. Still less then 30 hours on engine and it's stranded me twice at sea. I aim to service and repair myself and hope 2025 is kinder.
