Can I Catch Fish From my SIB in the Winter? Final Trip of 2024

A lot of inflatable boat owners pack their boats away for the colder months and it’s easy to see why, the lack of shelter from the elements and the high likelihood of getting wet don’t exactly favour the SIB for use at this time of year but for the simple fact that there are still plenty of fish to be caught I will use my boat all year round. To comfortably fish from a SIB in winter the only thing that changes is the addition of warm and waterproof layers and making sure you stay dry when launching the boat, apart from that the expectations must be lowered for a session- there are fewer fish generally speaking and time spent on the water is a lot less than the warmer months but in this video I demonstrate that 5 hours is plenty to get amongst the fish.

Absolute slabs of pouting . Your in an absolutely good position to be able to pick up beautiful fish of that stamp . I know they are 'trash fish' as the Americans call stuff like that. Great video as always. Youve to work very hard to get decent fish close to shore in Ireland sadly . Place is wiped by trawlers . Big whiting only starting to reappear lately . Thanks Oban👍
