A little trick on starters, esp those with #3 Phillip head screws, give the screw a little heat from a torch. It will turn right out then. Love pour videos. God bless you too!

Dude needs a bandsaw or at least a reciprocating saw. Cool process though. I wonder about the energy cost of melting down, and if ingots are that much more valuable than unmelted wire. It occurs to me that scrap dealers might even prefer wire in it's original form in order to help authenticate it as electrical grade. Ingots could contain other ingredients while the sellers attempt to pass off lower grade copper for pure.

Definitely was worth more, I got this one out of an old house remodel. Copper pipe is usually easier to fine. I don’t know if they use copper in Indiana or cpvc for the water lines. With the crucible I use them until they deaerate them get a new one.

my friends will go straight to the yard and scrap everything full but I like bringing things home and separate them out and then haul when the price is right on the precious metals. they always wonder how I come up with so much copper, cast aluminum, stainless, etc when the price is up.

If you are pulling IC's out of TV's, Keep them separate from the IC's you pull from computers. It is my belief that the IC's pulled from TV 's don't have any gold in them. I work for a TV repair shop and We often change out the main boards out of TV's. I took a bunch of the TV boards home along with a bunch of juicy looking boards from hi-end audio equipment and proceeded to strip them down. I had nearly 1/2 pound of Chips when I was done. There were BGA's, gold cornered BGA's and tons of flat pack IC's. After incinerating them and processing the ash for the gold, I could not locate a single gold bond wire. Even the Small BGA memory chips that look like the chips you pull from Memory modules had NOTHING in them of any value. Now we just toss TV boards in the dumpster (after I cut off the copper coils).
