Fridge Compressor vs Old Motor

The center pieces are armatures/rotors, the stator is the part with the windings. A lot of those tubes are copper coated steel which would explain why they didn’t melt. Have you checked them with a magnet?

too bad you don't have a plasma cutter. It takes me less than a minute to open them that way.
