The reason why modern "clean" images often look unnatural compared to older film movies comes down to how high-resolution filmmaking exposes more imperfections. You might think that higher production quality would mean more time to perfect details, but in reality, movies today are made on much tighter schedules. This leads to small inconsistencies in lighting, which contribute to that artificial CG look. Back in the day, practical effects and real-life sets were used much more often. Since the sets were physically built and already lit, any green screen work had to match the existing lighting conditions. Green screens were carefully planned and used sparingly. Nowadays, nearly everything is shot on a green screen, with CG filling in most of the world. This shift has forced artists to churn out work at an unsustainable pace with less time for refinement. Another major factor is how the decision-making process in filmmaking has changed. The quality and expertise of artists are not prioritized as much as they once were. Instead, marketing and business executives have taken more control over creative decisions, often undermining the artistic vision of filmmakers. To preserve the magic of cinema, the industry needs to shift power back to the creatives.

I like the ones that have ratios similar to how our eyes see. That varies mostly vertically tho (over horizontally) i feel tho bc of opening and narrowing eyes

Excellent advise, unfortunately for me, my room is so small the I literally cannot make my lighting look good because I don't have enough space to create depth or even position lights properly.

Isn't it faster instead of imprint and outgoing to just adjust to the right of the timeline and condense it with the cursor? Love your tutorial! If I bought the course is there a method to ask questions? Thx😊

It's been 3 days that I have been learning editing in DaVinci Resolve and I have no idea how to start, what it is, or how to do it. But today I just edited a KZbin short. Guys this is insane. I recommend that Beginners start with it. Super easy and super straightforward. love it

It'll always depends on the EDITOR. But if we're being honest, I'd switch to Da Vinci. Don't get me wrong, I've been an Adobe guy for almost 12 years and ONE thing in common with their apps is how frequent it crashes like hell. Not to mention the amount of time you have to render your edit just to have a smooth playback, it kills my workflow. I've seen LOTS of reviews on Da Vinci and how lesser it crashes over a year which is a game-changer for me. When it comes to VFX, Da Vinci's node-based workflow will give you a head start if you wanna be in the VFX industry because it's a node-based app like NUKE.

I think it's only a matter of time. People are dying. Old habits are also dying. There's a generation raising predominantly accustomed to pristine clean look of contemporary cinema. There will be a time that non-clean look will feel old. The new look will be the golden standard and perceived as "good".

Marvel is guilty of the too clean look obviously. But I think the Snyder verse is a perfect example of “artificially” dirtying a film if that makes sense. So while there’s not practical effects to make it darker there’s absurd saturation and slow motion to add an epic scale
