Nice video, your clients caught some giant crappies! Why weren't they keeping any fish?
@fishingaddict563817 сағат бұрын
They just wanted to have a good time and don’t want to pack anything for the flight back.

I always use 4 pound as well. Never 2 pound. A 4 pound crappie will break 2 pound test

That’s why we stick with 6 pound. But thanks.

Outstanding outings! Any recommendations for safe overnight accommodations at Clearlake?
@fishingaddict5638Күн бұрын
If you like fishing off of the docks, I haven’t seen any complaints for the Indian Beach Resort or the lake point lodge is decent. Thanks
@jamesthomas577317 сағат бұрын
Thanks! Is safe boat & trailer parking available at Lake Point Lodge?
@fishingaddict563817 сағат бұрын
I have parked my boat there before and no issues. But I wouldn’t leave anything of value in it overnight either, but that just goes without saying.

Another nice outing, as usual. An observation: Re the landing of that heavy and feisty catfish, your six pound test line seems much stronger than the six pound test line I use. In my case, that challenging unexpected fight would have ended like, “Oh snap!” Back to crappie. Can you tell if a school is moving left or right when you see it on your sonar screen? I know you’re an expert angler, especially when it comes to bagging Clearlake crappie, but I can’t figure out how your casts are at least three times more likely to get bit than those of your clients who are casting to the same school as you. If my memory serves me right, even a seasoned pro like Ed couldn’t match your success when he was fishing from the back of your boat. I know the slightest detail can make a difference on whether or not a crappie will bite. What little details am I and your clients missing?
@fishingaddict563824 күн бұрын
I just follow the school with the Live Scope where ever they go and cast to them, maybe you’re thinking of something else. I share everything when fishing. I think the #1 thing is reel really, really, really slow. The catfish was caught I believe because the drag was set correctly and yes it was in 6 pound test. Jim, come on a trip with me one time and I’ll show you everything I know. Who knows, I think it’s the same things that you know.
@aProudOG24 күн бұрын
@ Thanks Jim for your swift and candid reply to my probing questions. My hope is to launch at Clearlake soon when you’re on the water too. If that happens, rest assured I will eagerly seek your face-to-face and boat-to-boat guidance which without a doubt will make me a better crappie angler. Over the years your videos and always gracious replies to my endless questions have helped me tremendously in more ways than you can imagine.

@jamesthomas5773Ай бұрын
Nice outing…very friendly and fun group to have onboard. Clearly they were happy and content with the day’s expert tutorials and bountiful productivity. Do you have a preference for the type worms you use for the bluegill/redears, i.e., night crawlers, red wigglers, etc.? Also, you’ve had a few episodes when y’all routinely landed one pound-plus bluegills and redears. Do those hit only during certain times of the year or do you just have to look around for the bigs until you find them? Lastly, any plans to try the Redbud arm soon in search of large crappie schools? I just find it so much easier to launch and recover there.
@fishingaddict5638Ай бұрын
The bigger redears are only in April that we could find and that’s only once in a while. We choose to use redworms only but I’m sure other live worms will work too. The oaks area is good now. Good luck to you.

I'm literally eating X-Mas goodies as i'm watching this and seing those slabs is still making me hungry. Crappies and bluegils are so freakin tasty!!
@fishingaddict5638Ай бұрын
Yes they are good and tasty. Appreciate it brother.
@DWPFishingАй бұрын
I was smiling the whole time watching this. Bluegils and crappies are the best tasting fresh water fish imo. Better than trout!! If these guys were not avid anglers they will be after this trip. Nice vid.
@fishingaddict5638Ай бұрын
No they were not especially fishing for crappies. But they got the hang of it. Thank you.
Nice catches. 1st thing I teach when taking people out is to leave out a certain amount of line out when flipping or when fish are going to be netted and why it makes everything easier.
@fishingaddict5638Ай бұрын
Yes we do try. But thank you
