I just got done with TCHP…after my last round, my platelets, magnesium and potassium crashed. I’m almost 5 weeks out and they are struggling to get them back up. I’ve been getting electrolyte infusions daily but it’s slow going (it was so bad they rescheduled my mastectomy and canceled my HP infusions until after I can have surgery). My hands were seizing like that..still kinda are. Originally I thought it was neuropathy but they said it was because my magnesium tanked (likely because of diarrhea from TCHP)

Hi, I’m 36 and I just finished my second round of TCHP on JULY 3RD 2024. What round are you on? I have 4 more to finish until my double mastectomy end of October/ beginning of November.
@MoreThanAPatient3 күн бұрын
I also had a long period between my last treatment and my surgery. My last TCHP was 12.4.2023 and my surgery was 1.23.24. Dehydration, electrolyte, anemia & neutropenic post my 6th treatment. The impact is cumulative and after the 6th it is VERY hard to recover in my opinion. Please give your body grace to heal. You still have healing to do. Agree, the low electrolytes are an issue for all muscles. That's why we feel so bad. I'm sorry you feel so poorly. You are not alone. You are strong and I believe in you. Be well, Jen

I have that too, in my fingers & toes. Had it for a few years. Saw a specialist, did some tests, final result was deal with it, LOL. Nothing to be done. One doctor called it trigger finger, other said not really. Stretching exercises help, but just gotta remember to do it. Sometimes it can be painful.

How frustrating. It's not a pleasant experience. I'm sorry you have it as well. I stretch my fingers quite a bit as I crochet with regular stretch breaks. Be well, Jen

Your energy is so great! ❤️ What did you do for the itchy skin? I have that now. Finished chemo and surgery. Everything went well. But I have the itchy skin.
@MoreThanAPatient16 күн бұрын
Thanks. Remember, I only need to keep it up for 1 minute with you. However, overall, I am a high energy person. So, I"m feeling low energy for me... Dr office recommended Claritan for skin itch. So far, I do the following (in attempt not to introduce more chemicals to my system.) Slather on the creams (aquaphor, amlactin, etc...), shower every other day, muscle through... The skin could be a reaction to the herceptin/perjeta or residual from chemo.... Not sure any of this helps. Please check with your medical team for guidance. Be well, Jen

Jen said in her daily short that she would do a quick video on it, she saw your question, but she documented two of the four here on her channel. I believe she has mentioned it in one of the early videos of this second breast cancer. But that was over 300 days ago, so I can't give you which one exactly. Keep an eye on her shorts!

I had the fluid before with implants. I think it is mostly a body reaction to all the trauma. For now, they want to wait for body to deal with it. No medical intervention. Glad my smile can help brighten your day. Be well, Jen
