Desmond Ford is wrong in so many ways . People who subscribe to what he teaches, i guarantee, are becoming they themselves are doing things that are evil and doesnt want to change they want to continue in sin . They love sin and want to sin until Jesus comes, then go to heaven , news flash ! Jesus told the woman caught in adultery to go and sin. NO MORE ! The truth is you have to overcome sin by the blood of the Lamb, believe it or not the truth is still the truth . The same Ellen White you all love to ridicule told us years ago before that this was going to happen , so nothing new here .

I see Dr Ford categorically states that EGW is by the church accepted as NOT being the infallible interpreter of scripture as the fundamental belief #18 seems to indicate, or have I misunderstood something? I personally don’t agree with this belief and never have.

Let's flesh this out. Adam sins, the Lord comes down, investigates, and then delivers judgement. God comes down and investigates the pre-flood world, finds it wanting, and delivers judgement. The Tower of Babel is being built, God and His Son come down, investigate and deliver judgement. Christ comes down with two angels to investigate Sodom and Gomorrah, investigate and deliver judgement. But for some reason, a whole portion of Adventists deny the investigative judgement. 'It's unbiblical', God will excuse your behaviour just because you ask. What it comes down to is a love of sin. You believe in the Catholic faith, sin, ask forgiveness, sin again, ask forgiveness, sin again, ask forgiveness because you have no desire to overcome. Revelation 2-3 the letters to the seven chruches, only those who overcome are given an eternal reward. What is it they overcome? Sin. As Ellen White said to D M Canwright when he refused the truth. Believe whatever you want, but stay away from our people. If you call yourself an Adventist but refuse the the Pillars, just leave. Join a Sunday church, eat, drink whatever you want, just stay away.

@@acertainsound interesting point - the practices of the Levitical priesthood are a striking shadow of Christs ministry in the Heavenly sanctuary (otherwise why would Christ instruct Moses to institute them)? I often wonder what the Old Testament shadows (packed with meaning) might look like if modern theological academia got the chance to reshape them…many struggle so they relegate the inspired writings of both Moses and Paul to “old school” thinking - but the means and ultimate process of salvation is the same in the old and New Testaments. Paul makes it clear the blood of goats never saved anyone, so why the process? Clearly Jesus was trying to reveal to us more about what happens in the heavenly courts before he returns 🥳

The Everlasting Gospel and the Judgement go hand in hand. Both are mentioned together in Rev.14:6,7. We can’t just throw out the part we don’t like because it doesn’t suit our whims. Jesus has to judge all the cases of mankind so that when He comes His “reward is with Him”. There has to be a judgment to determine the reward, just like in any civil court. “..the judgment was set and the books were opened.” Dan.7:10. So whether you like it or not the Truth is the Truth. We can’t treat the Bible like a buffet and pick and choose what we like. We must be sympathizing with our Heavenly High Priest as He is finishing up this work. It is good news that rewards of the righteous and wicked will be just.

I think the root problem with the Adventist view is that somehow the 2300 days/year prophecy starts at the same time as the 70 week prophecy in 457BC. Why Should it? Common sense tells you they are two different prophecies and context tells the reader that the 2300 day prophecy begins when the sanctuary is defiled to when it is cleansed. This begs the question, Was the temple defiled in 457 BC? No ! It is obvious it was defiled by Antiochus Epiphanes ! 171BC by replacing the high priest and cleansed in 164BC by the Maccabees

There is one issue with Desmond Ford, his blind support of EGW. She spoke out of both sides of her mouth. That is why there are so many arguments among SDA on subjects. Because you can find statements to support both sides of a subject in her writings. She plagiarized most of her writings, not passing the test of a prophet as in Jer 23: 30, 31. SDAs were not trinitarians, and it's a lie that means it denies the deity of Christ. Jesus IS the only Begotten Son of the one true God. A being can only bring forth a being after his kind. God gave us plenty of lessons in nature to understand that. God sent His Son, so that he can reveal his Father. God wants us to know him, He is not a mystery.

I heard Des many many years ago when his accent was thicker. I remember being very impressed. It’s really unfortunate all that happened. However, I think there are other explanations. We know the throne of God is on wheels and therefore mobile. It is Biblical that Jesus went to the holy place when he ascended into heaven to be with the father in the Holy place (not the most holy) to later go to most holy following the atonement process. I don’t think Des realized this other understanding. About investigative judgement being unloving and legalistic, I read the chapter in GC. There are text that Imply works is required for salvation and there are text that says it through Jesus. When you look at the whole thing knowing God is love, it mirrors what the Bible says. The Bible has text that sounds like salvation by works and others that say salvation by grace. In both cases, you have to reconcile. For me I don’t see that IJ makes a tyrannical God. I see what the law requires, but thank God we have Jesus as an intercessor. This is not perfectionism, this is good news.

THE TRINITY DOCTRINE Ellen White has stated in her writings that the top three beings in heaven were as follows [ 1SP 17.1 ] 1st. God the Father 2nd. Jesus Christ 3rd. Lucifer Therefore, my question is how can a created angel such as Lucifer, have more authority than the eternal God the Holy Spirit? Trinitarians say that "God the Holy Spirit" is included in the Trio, but they misinterpret what Ellen White meant. If he was truly in the Godhead, he should have occupied the number three position in heaven, but he didn't, Lucifer did. Also, where is his throne? God the Father has a throne, and Christ has a throne in heaven according to the bible, but where is any mention of the Holy Spirit having a throne? In summary, what Trinitarians don't understand is that the Holy Spirit is just the Spirit of God the Father. So, with this in mind, is the Trinity really a Christian doctrine?

It seems Chris is trying too hard to bait Des into saying more damaging things about SDA. Des knows that the SDA is Biblically right in so many ways. His biggest problem was the perfectionism issue in investigative judgement. However, SDAs also teach that it’s the blood of Christ that covers the sinner at judgement. And yes , judgement is biblical. The investigation is to determine who has the blood on their door post as in the Passover. For those that are trying so hard to condemn SDA, it appears that Des was trying to say very nicely Matt 7:5.

I believe it is essential for believers to believe in the scriptures alone for our beliefs. I reject teachings which are not supported by scripture alone. I also reject doctrines which makes humans perfect , and infallible. We cannot exalt ourselves to a place of judge for any human nor should we make idols of any writer. It is essential to get the central message of the scriptures, and get right with God with a humble spirit and following the Holy Spirit guidance. We are not perfect, and must be humble enough to be open to correction and avoid making idols of prophets and doctrines. Great video

when we oppose judgement doctrine using Daniel 8 the words of Solomon in ecclesiastics 3 have no meaning anymore.......17 I said to myself, “God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.”......I guess Solomon was wrong too....why would the righteous be judged and why would their deeds be judged?......why would Paul address the Corinthian Christians and say ....10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.........Paul ,why would believes appear before a judgement seat ?......why would Paul repeat the same to the Christians in Rome ......10 You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister[a]? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. .....why would believers stand before a judgement seat ?......why is Paul warning us NOT to judge one another and point us to a judgement seat where will will be all accountable ?........what would be free me from condemnation? ......So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus....but why iam so uncomfortable with judgement if I am in Christ...?.........surely I should be happy with this..... revelation 3:5 The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels...so why can't I be happy that the court session in Daniel 7 embarrasses my accuser ,and Christ actually acknowledges my name before the FATHER AND ANGELS ?......and like in Zachariah 3 white robs are given to those hidden in Christ .....I think there is a better way of dealing with judgement by establishing factually if the bible teaches a judgement of saints (Not condemnation).if we establish that Solomon and Paul are saying YES about it then we can at least keep that in mind and says "we dont know when" but Daniel 7 has hope for those who see that court session .....because it says ....21 As I watched, this horn was waging war against the holy people and defeating them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came and pronounced judgment in favor of the holy people of the Most High, and the time came when they possessed the kingdom....judgement is in their favour ...whenever you deal with Daniel 7 ...judgement is in our favour....the accuser has day in court to accuse and must be answered by that court ....Daniel 7 does not says saints will be examined but the bible says so as a unit of scripture ....the SAINTS ARE AWARDED IN THEIR FAVOUR in Daniel 7.the silence of Daniel 7 on saints being judged is the only reason for rejection of investigative judgement but as a unit of scripture Solomon says we will be examined and Paul says so.runing with Paul and Solomon what then is the nature of our judgement as saints ?.....the lamb took our condemnation ,I accepted his royalty and he took away my slavery away from me .....some one wants to keep me a slave ...I need my day in court! judgment in my favour please !......so judgement is pronounced in favour of saints ( Daniel 7)without even checking why the saints deserve that favour ?...nice one ......And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment.........why not just assume that all the guest are ok.....why examine the saints ?....

“Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, WHICH THE LORD PITCHED, and not man. For every *high priest* is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. *FOR IF HE WERE ON EARTH, HE SHOULD NOT BE A PRIEST, SEEING THAT THERE ARE PRIESTS THAT OFFER GIFTS ACCORDING TO THE LAW.” Hebrews 8:1-4 The pivotal fact is - Paul said regarding Jesus being our High Priest that if he were on earth, He COULD NOT be our priest. THIS MEANS JESUS COULD NOT BE OUR PRIEST AT THE SAME TIME AS WHEN HE WAS OUR SACRIFICE ON EARTH. The role of High Priest had to come AFTER His resurrection and ascension to heaven, because as we have read from Hebrews above, Jesus was to be a "MINISTER OF THE SANCTUARY" in heaven, "OF THE TRUE TABERNACLE, WHICH THE LORD PITCHED, AND NOT MAN." So, Jesus was to become our High Priest AFTER His sacrifice and return to heaven. Why and to do what? To fulfil the “shadow” and “type” AS GIVEN IN THE OLD COVENANT - to make atonement for us. ‘Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also MAKETH INTERCESSION [G1793] FOR US.’ Rom. 8:34 Why would Christ be making intercessions anymore if the entire ATONEMENT PROCESS was FINISHED at the cross? Isn’t the work of intercession not part of Christ’s work to save us? Now let us read Hebrews 9:6-26, “Now when these things were thus ordained, THE PRIESTS went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, NOT WITHOUT BLOOD, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: The Holy Ghost this signifying, that THE WAY INTO THE HOLIEST OF ALL WAS NOT YET MADE MANIFEST, WHILE AS THE FIRST TABERNACLE WAS YET STANDING: Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices ... BUT CHRIST BEING COME AN HIGH PRIEST of good things to come, BY A GREATER AND MORE PERFECT TABERNACLE, NOT MADE WITH HANDS, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, BUT BY HIS OWN BLOOD HE ENTERED IN ONCE INTO THE HOLY PLACE, having obtained eternal redemption for us ... For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; BUT INTO HEAVEN ITSELF, NOW TO APPEAR IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD FOR US: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared TO PUT AWAY SIN BY THE SACRIFICE OF HIMSELF.” Hebrews 9:6-26. What did John saw in vision three decades after Christs resurrection? “And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen IN HIS TEMPLE the ark of his testament:” Revelation 11:19 [cf. Heb. 8:1-6; Also read, Ex 25:16; 31:18]. Christ entered into the heavenly sanctuary, the TRUE tabernacle of which the earthly was a copy [Ex 25:8,9], there to fulfil the role of High Priest, of which the earthly priest was a “type” of Christ mediating for the people [TO MAKE ATONEMENT] for them and their sins [with blood.] *THIS ROLE CHRIST COULD NOT FULFIL WHILE ON EARTH. HIS ROLE ON EARTH WAS THE ROLE OF “OFFERING” AND “SACRIFICE”. Only [AFTER] THIS WAS ACCOMPLISHED was Christ then able to become our Mediator [1 Timothy 2:5] and make atonement for our sins. I am NOT saying that the sacrifice of Christ on the cross was not an atonement. The Bible clearly lays out that Calvary was the [BEGINNING] of the atonement. The offering of the spotless animal in the Old Testament “type” was the BEGINNING of the atonement. BUT IT WAS THE [PRIEST] WHO COMPLETED THAT ATONEMENT FOR SINNERS. Jesus dying on the cross was the beginning of His atoning work. Now He is in heaven as our High Priest FINISHING the atonement. Look at what it says in the last verse of Hebrews 9:26 above. What does it mean where it says "IN THE END OF THE WORLD HATH HE APPEARED [TO PUT AWAY SIN]"? To “put away sin” means to “cleanse” to “make clean”, “reconciliation”, “purify”, “sanctify”, “restoration” - to ATONE, to make us “at-one-ment” with God. Surly, now we can clearly understand and comprehend that the atonement did not finish at the cross, it BEGAN AT THE CROSS. And Jesus is now making final atonement for us in the heavenly sanctuary as our High Priest and Mediator before the Father. [1 Tim 2:5; Heb 8:6, 9:15, 12:24]. So, it must also be constantly kept in mind that the atonement is not the cause but the consequence of God’s love for guilty men [John 3:16; Romans 3:24-25; Ephesians 1:7; 1 John 1:9; 4:9]. The atonement may also be regarded as necessary, not in an absolute but in a relative sense, i.e., if man is to be saved, there is no other way than this which God has purposed and carried out [Exodus 34:7; Joshua 24:19; Psalm 5:4; 7:11; Nahum 1:2,6; Romans 3:5]. This is God’s plan, clearly revealed; and that is enough for us to know. Excerpt from Easton’s Bible Dictionary 1897: Atonement does not occur in the Authorized Version of the New Testament except in Rom. 5:11, where in the Revised Version the word “reconciliation” is used. In the Old Testament it is of frequent occurrence. The meaning of the word is simply at-one-ment, i.e., the state of being one or being reconciled, so that atonement is reconciliation. Thus, it is used to denote the effect which flows from the death of Christ.

LOve the Ellen. Adventists say their is no fault in her writings. Ellen G. White, , wrote extensively about the topic of masturbation or "self-abuse" in her books and articles. In her view, masturbation was a sin that could lead to physical and mental harm. For example, in her book "The Healthful Living," she wrote: "The practice of self-abuse [masturbation] is a terrible sin, and one that will surely be punished, unless it is most thoroughly repented of and forsaken." She also believed that the habit of masturbation could lead to a weakened willpower, moral degradation, and a lack of self-control. Maybe that explains the frustrated look i see in SDA`s?
