I've had one for about 3 years no side to side play but has up and down play. It is snappy and nice weight.

Is it worth buying this knife in jig bone? (60 eur) Will it be rare with time? (maybe discontinued?)

Yes, a couple of years off... but it sports Swedish Sleipner steel... and combined with made in europe it puts it in the BMW, Audi section of knives;-)

Thank you for your excellent review of this cool little knife! I have the SIG version with G10 scales and the SIG logo on both sides of the scales, and it’s a sweet little EDC! The only other difference between mine and yours is that the detente on mine seems a bit “stronger” or stiffer, as I can’t really flick the blade even close to the closed position, thus almost requiring 2 hands to close it. Other than that it’s a pretty solid knife.

The reason it's named the Kalashnikov is because of how low cost it is. Made of cheaper materials and cost affective but still useable, just like the AK's of the gun world. The high tolerances (the wobble and stuff) mimics the AKs tolerances where if something were to get into the "action" it would still operate. As an AK guy these are actually really nice selling points to me.

I never understood why you would want scissors on a knife. I can't think of any reason I would need scissors over a knife unless I wanted to clip coupons at the campfire.

I hate to be that guy, but you could just buy a Benchmade Osborne 940, maybe put some fancier scales on it, put a 16° back bevel on it, and follow that with a 18° micro bevel and you've got one knife for every occasion. I know. I'm no fun.

It seems you don't appreciate field worthy knives Kalashnikov knives are a real diamond in the rough these knives have more than proven them selves extremely reliable well worth their weight in gold the knife you EDC and when needed for unexpected emergencies or tasks that arise you at the end of the day will utter to your self thank God I didn't leave the house this morning with out my Boker kalashnikov Sincerely BEN

I just picked up the Rock Jumper in VG10 to try out, and I like it so much, I gotta get one in a premium steel now, and get some custom scales for it. My fav Spyderco model is the Stretch 2, I have a standard VG10 model, and the K390 model with a straight spine. I need to get one in G10 scales next. I also love the Yojimbo 2 as well, I carry it sometimes.

I went for the Zipslip! I prefer the blade shape & finish, its sturdy/heavier construction and G10 handles. The pocket clip is much deeper carry which is very valuable to me. I actually like the weak spring and stop as it makes the knife really easy to open and close. No issues with safety because of the finger choil.

I think it's a nice looking budget knife and definitely an eye catcher but I don't like the fact it's AUS8 steel, not the highest quality but okay if you use it for everyday normal tasks but its not the most durable and as you said there is a fair amount of play in the blade. To get a high quality, reliable, automatic, your gonna pay some bucks. I checked out the, Buck Automatic and it looks sweet and I'm sure a high quality knife with high quality steel; but it is a hefty price at around $170 bucks but, sometimes you have to pay for quality. Thank you for the review. 👍

Cool Little knife I gave one to my kid today it took him about a minute and a half to figure out how to open it. But I tipped him off by telling him it was just a simple lock back knife. Oh I enjoy mine yes so what it has pocket where are key marks or whatever who cares that’s just character. It’s a good solid knife show who cares if it gets marked up on the external finish. I kind of like the gray the kid and myself have just all blacked out ones black blading all. I just really like the fact of it really is an old styled knife real simple action reliable trustworthy

The sage is a fantastic knife.. Before I could convince myself spend the money on one I got a Kershaw Swerve on sale (I'm cheap) and I'd say for a budget knife it's a solid option as well.. Although I wish the lock release was on the outside of the fold like the Sage rather than on the inside.

I can see my keys getting stuck in the open hole left when they removed about 20% of the blade. Also since so much blade is gone it seems like a weak point both at the top strap and the hinge point. Very little metal actually attaching it to the handle.

Great knife and great review! Small note: while it’s disassemblable, don’t you ever try to do that. That would be easy, but damn hard to assemble it back. With its small size, those springs are very tough. When you open it. Everything is jump out from the axises and put it all back was a tricky task. I made it in two hours, but the was I time I thought I’d never do that. Without a specific equipment and tools, very hard to do that. Otherwise, tool is truly neat. Scissors are cutting but far from Victorinox cause not the best geometry of the blades. But not that bad at all. Love mine and use it quite regularly.
