I’ve been using my for about 3 months now, several times a week. Only once has it retracted without me having to pull it out again and again. Sometimes it never fully retracts. I am disappointed in this hose. I reached out to company twice, their response “pull it out some more, give it time the first few times it will do that” I bought this one because of this video, what was said, access to the top, access to the hose and length and diameter of hose. I would like two more but I rethinking. It’s almost as if there is too much hose for the housing. I bought hose in summer 2023 didn’t install until spring 2024. Anyone else having problems with the retracting feature?

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I only had a problem with this reel one time and I found that I was able to basically reset it by pulling it all the way out and slowly walking it all the way back in, I’ve had no issues since. It’s truly been a great hose reel for me now a couple years later.

You're awesome! You just saved us a huge plumber's bill. I ran to Ace and grabbed this specific part tonight and fixed our faucet in under 5 minutes. Carbon Monoxide detectors utilize an electrochemical detection mechanism to detect Carbon Monoxide. As the chemicals degrade over time, it will eventually fall below the effiency required to be an effective detector. When that happens, the detector will go into a fault mode (causing the chirping) letting you know that it needs to be replaced. If you don't want to have expiring detectors, a straight smoke detector. Smoke detectors usually use either Infrared light detectors or by testing the ionization level and trigger if it falls below a certain level. These are both electronic in nature and don't have a chemical component that will run out.... thus the longer life span. Just be aware that smoke detectors can't detect harmful levels of Carbon Monoxide.

I’m always dubious of any of those ‘odour eliminators’ and spray bomb/car fragrance sprays….ive found more often than not they leave your car smelling like public toilets - cheap and nasty synthetic air freshener type smell. Also don’t like the thought of all those chemicals embedding themself into your entire car
@JaysPlace2468
@JaysPlace2468 2 ай бұрын
They aren’t for everyone that’s for sure. For this situation, I needed something to penetrate the air vents that didn’t smell like wet dog and this seems to have neutralized that smell. It was a little strong for a couple days but then as it aired out, it was better. New car smell always smells a bit synthetic. Thanks for adding to the conversation!

At a certain point, why not just replace the whole thing?
@JaysPlace2468
@JaysPlace2468 2 ай бұрын
You’re right, it’s not a very hard job to replace the whole thing. For me, this leads to a sheetrocked basement ceiling and I’d have to locate the pipe and cut a hole in the ceiling to access it. The few bucks I spent on this was my preferred option at this point. For some, it may make more sense to change but it’s definitely cheaper to repair.

Dumb question - what does the screw on the knob go into?
@JaysPlace2468
@JaysPlace2468 2 ай бұрын
No such thing as a dumb question, just something you haven’t learned yet. The screw threads into the end of the faucet stem. Its main purpose is to prevent the handle from falling off. It doesn’t actually have to be tight enough to support the torque of the handle turning. The handle has a square opening that goes around the squared end of the stem and that supports the turning.

You mean the plastic vacuum breaker? If you are replacing it, no need to worry about breaking it while taking it out, clamp down some vice grips on it really tight and spin it out. If it breaks, just make sure you get all the pieces out. It may have been cross threaded when they put it in and that’s the cause of your leak.
