The campers along the side of the roads are people that have been driven out of the rentals because of high prices and the TSA security check you have to go through. Dude, your so young, you have no idea what Montana is compared to the whole west coast. And the 9th is about to change for the better, it will not be getting their pockets stuffed with California's money any longer. Everything that newsom has done is being overturned as we speak.

To many people wanting to be cowboys. Left 20 years ago. Town went from small to gigantic. Making good money is not the problem, the out of staters have bought property and built a house or bought a house and decided they don't like the winters and try to sell the property for 10 times the amount of what they paid for it. I moved back, got a good paying job within 2 day's. Housing is is good for renter's, but buying is ridiculous. This isn't California, Oregon or Washington state. Keep those high prices on the west coast. I remember when your job's wage was good enough to rent a home. Now you have to go through a homeland security check plus 2 pints of plasma just to be considered to rent in the town im in. It's like buying salsa in Texas but it's made in new york city. Don't come here to change Montana's ways, stay the f-out. Especially if you're a democrat or belong to a anti-gun group.

One thing people dont realize also that the winter days are verrrry short. The days that are 18 hours long in the summer are great, but in December you just dont have that much sunshine, and if you are west of the Continental Divide, you have a lot of cloudiness. It does make a lot of difference

Montana, what Colorado used to be!

Currently doing research to move to Montana. I live in northern Utah where the population has exploded the past few years. As of now I’m leaning towards Kalispell or somewhere in Flathead county. Cost of living is slightly cheaper there than where I’m at, plus surprisingly higher wages for my field of work. Being from Utah I’m used to cold and snowy winters (albeit not as severe as Montana)

What about the fact that an employer can't fire you without just cause? Its the only state without at-will employment. and are there unions there?

The governor is giving tax breaks to the rich assholes creating the high taxes and cost of living, which is unfair to the actual residents who actually are born and raised montana people. Blame everything going on.. on the super Rich assholes. They're to blame for the drugs and cost of living.,

Its true the further you get to the small mining towns like Butte, MT there is a obvious alcoholic and drug problem that the criminals and locals take advantage of. Dirty needles everywhere. Actually human poo in the streets. During holidays like 4th July and saints patricks day some many drunk drivers and the police dont have any control over the community and the public trashes the place and garbage blow in the wind for about a week. Dont live in MT. Just watch it fall apart slowly and turn into the next Detroit.

So much of this could be said for New Hampshire. We are a smaller state, but a lot of these same exact issues have effected us too. People have moved here in huge numbers because they don’t like what their state has become - but they come here and vote the same. Costs have sky-rocketed. These people don’t even like it here. They complain that it’s not like Massachusetts... but they just won’t leave.

I live in North Carolina...it's getting over crowded here. The last census shows us with ELEVEN MILLION people. And we're half the size of Montana if not smaller. Yall got it good in that aspect.

They make up for no sales tax by jacking up prices on groceries . If you want to move there, keep in mind that they are sick of people moving into " THEIR " State , only you won't find that out until it's too late .. Meth is a problem state wide .. The local news stations won't shed light on what's really going on around you so people there rely heavily on gossip .. The locals get a few beers and a couple shots in them and talk about how their enemies will end up in an old mine shaft if they don't be careful and so forth and so on .. Before I left last Thanksgiving I talked to several locals who wished they could leave and one transplant who said he romanticized the thought of moving to Montana only to be disappointed .. Him and his wife were there , and he said he wanted out . I knew a few gems there, but for the most part, they are clanish and like brutality .. After 13 years , I finally moved back to my home state , and I won't be shoveling snow this winter until my back seizes up on me .. 😂

Mont is another hilly billy states like Virginia. Things are isolated, NOTHING is convenient there. 150miles to drive anywhere. And NOBODY want you ppl WEST of them there, especially Californians. WONT be welcomed. Plan on IT.
