It started in Survival because Creative mode didn't exist at the time. Then when Creative was introduced I switched over to that.

Heya. What did you type in when you were searching and what device are you using? It's titled 'City of Newisle' on the Marketplace and it should pop right up.

Not this time around, no. It's become too much of a hassle to manage all the different versions at this point. Lights Out v1.2 was the last one.

@BlipNoir Ah alrighty, I understand. I wanna ask, though, do you have a Lights Out version that's compatible with 1.7.10? I'm trying to load up the oldest available version which is v1.0 but it keeps crashing due to mob spawners, the reason I am trying to use this version is because of a mod called It Fell From The Sky mod which is only compatible for version 1.7.10.

The best advice I can give you is to find inspiration in the world around you, in cities or architectural styles you like or even other builders in Minecraft. I lived in Toronto for most of my life, so I got a lot of inspiration from that city as well as places like New York, Chicago and Montreal. When you find a style you like, try to work with it. Use some photos to follow along with, or download other people's city maps, and try to recreate buildings or areas on your own. Newisle is unique, but just like a real architect might do it borrows elements and planning from real-world places. Every architect or artist learns from those before them, after all. And when you've found some helpful photography and videos, just give it a go and develop your own unique take. Build the core of the building you're working on first and leave the detailing for the end to truly take your build from good to great.

Hey I don't plan on adding a new airport, sorry. 1) There isn't any room near the city for another airport and 2) it took me a couple months to build the first one, so I don't really want to build a bigger one when the first already took a while.

And no matter how many shiny new skyscrapers and such are built up around it, forever it shall remain.

Hey, thanks a bunch! It was started in survival as creative mode didn't exist yet but I continued on in creative mode.

Almost! Its birthday is in August.

Hi. Buildings over 5 stories tall had to be filled in order to optimize the map. Everything else, so over 90% of builds, is still furnished. There were huge framerate issues in downtown Newisle and Rockwood even on my own computer which were caused by those buildings being furnished. Entities were a huge culprit, too. Unfortunately, as there are plenty of players who play on lower-end devices, those buildings will stay filled in to make sure the gameplay stays enjoyable for everyone.

@@BlipNoir I thought of an idea for Newisle that I am thinking of doing in my edited v1.2 template of newisle. I find it annoying that just about almost every single minecart line goes to and from Union. I think now in v1.3, though i have not played it, I know that you have the Airport, Rockwood, Fallout Bay, Highfield, Olde Town (moved in v1.3), Briar valley, Tumbleweed, Grand Tree, some growing areas outside of newisle. (Highfield is in Newise tho). Why not a new rail link servicing those. This doesn't make much sense in the absence of an airport in v1.2, but I was thinking of a big circular rail project connecting all the regional towns. And unlike how Newisle downtown and union are always centre of the network, this time it would be Rockwood that would be the main city serviced with the loop starting and ending there.What do you think of such an idea.

@@electro_sykes That's already a feature in v1.3. All the towns and cities are linked just as you suggested.

The only mod I used was Amulet Editor to build some of the more tedious things like roads, rail, etc. It's easier to copy and paste those.

Thanks for the kind words and so glad to hear you're having fun. The secrets range from funny signs I made years ago to things like laboratories, player homes, an underground nightclub and more. I think the secrets are best left to the players to discover. Otherwise, they wouldn't be so secret. :)
