I’ve had many printers work straight out of the box. Sucks you’re having so much grief. I’m especially interested in hearing about your SV08 and Kobra 2 Max pains

Happy new year and please don't give up. It feels to me like your printers are causing you too much trouble to be worth using. Perhaps sell most of them off and buy more reliable brands? Bambu Lab printers are expensive but they are extremely reliable. Same thing with Prusa printers. Give them a shot. Also, as I've learned twice to my detriment, product reviews mean nothing, especially for those printers that come from China. I have a sneaking suspicion that the review copies that most creators receive have been carefully curated beforehand, while we normal folk have to deal with the real output of manufacturing defects. Everyone was raving about the Qidi X-Max 3 but I've had nothing but trouble with it, same as with the Elegoo neptune 4 series. I've spent MONTHS tinkering with them along with that tech support until I found all the defects and fixed them. Avoid these manufacturers at all costs.

Happy new year! Keep the faith. We all struggle keeping our printers going. I suppose that’s part of the hobby! Your videos help me solve printer issues and I appreciate your work!

I know nothing about 3d printing my 12 yo got it for xmas and he swears its broken now he only used it like 10×.. soo when we auto level and try to print it doesnt stick and blobs up the z ofset says -2.51 can anyone help a dumb mom
@OuterRimArmorerКүн бұрын
The build plate might need to be cleaned. Try using soap and water and washing it like you would your dishes.
@OuterRimArmorerКүн бұрын
If that doesn’t help then it may need to have the z offset adjusted until it sticks to the build plate. That can be done while you’re watching the first layer go down.

Just assembled my sv08. Only issue with it was one of the connector holes of the stepper dupont connector was clogged with glue, causing a bad connection to the stepper motor and forcing a pin to bend on the Z3 and Y stepper motors. Its not a top notch quality build, so some experience is helpfull, but it does deliver. Had none of the other problems reviewers complain(ed) about. Maybe I'm just lucky...

With twice as many sensors and motors the K2 will be a nightmare for any user to assess and fix, for the price tag it should have far better warranty and servicing options.
@dilloncarhart26916 күн бұрын
I adjusted my z height during a print. It fixed it temporarily but unfortunately a couple hours later, it started up again. This is because the issue isn’t the z height. The real issue is over extrusion on the infill. Charge to Gyroid infill and it should fix the issue. As for the nozzle dragging on supports, you’ll probably have to adjust the extrusion settings
@OuterRimArmorer3 күн бұрын
I agree with you, over extrusion is the likely culprit and the gyroid infill is worth a shot!

I live in the PNW which is cold and wet. My garage is insulated but doesn’t help much so I use grow tents in my garage and during the winter I’ll close them up so the heat stays inside.

I BOUGHT THE SAME PRINTER AS MY FIRST PRINTER LAST WEEK, INSTRUCTIONS ARE VERY VERY BARE, SURE NO PROBLEMS PUTTING IT TOGETHER, BUT HOW TO OPERATE IT I HAD TO GO ONLINE. IT WORKED REALLY WELL FOR ABOUT 40 HOURS OR SO UNTIL I GOT THE SAME PROBLEM AS YOUR VIDEO. I BOUGHT MY PRINTER VIA FACEBOOK NEW IN THE BOX AND CAME WITH SPARES, SO I HAD A SPARE HEAD, CAME WITH NOZZLES SO I TRIED TO FIT A NEW NOZZLE, AND MORE PROBLEMS, THE SPARE NOZZLES ARE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT AS HOW IT SEAT INTO THE HEATING ELEMENT, I TOOK THE EASY WAY OUT AND GOT A FILE AND REMOVED A SMALL ABOUT OF COPPER, RE CALIBRATED THE PRINTER AND SEEMS TO BE WORKING AGAIN. THAT BLUE TUBE IS A VERY VERY POOR DESIGN, SO I GOT ONLINE AND FOUND AN UPGRADED HEATING ELEMENT FROM ALIEXPRESS THAT HAS A METAL TUBE, NO MORE BLUE TUBE, AND WILL FIT IT WHEN IT COMES IN THE MAIL AS I CAN SEE THAT BLUE PLASTIC TUBE MELTING IN TIME AGAIN. OVERALL IT IS NOT A BAD PRINTER, BUT FROM AN ENGINEERING POINT OF VIEW I THINK THEY CHEAPED OUT ON SOME PARTS, ONE OF THE 4 SMALL SCREWS THAT HOLD THE HEAD ONTO THE PRINTER STRIPPED THE TREAD ALREADY, AND THEIR HEATING ELEMENT IS POORLY DESIGNED, IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS SO FAST SEEING THE PRINTER IS BRAND NEW. BUT I THINK THE UPGRADED PART SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. AND THOSE ALLEN KEYS THAT CAME WITH THE PRINTER ARE JUNK, APPLY SOME FORCE AND THEY ROUND OFF. I ALSO HAVE HAD SOME OF THE BRIM LIFTING AT TIMES, SO BOUGHT SOME BED ADHESIVE AS WELL TO AID WITH THAT PROBLEM.

I think anyone expecting it to work like a Dishwasher are (putting this kindly) not using their heads. I’m loving my K2 Plus so far, it’s by far the best printer I’ve had yet. It’s absolutely a printer, not a magic zero-effort box of perfection.

@OuterRimArmorer bruh? Really? Lol! I have 5 K1 Max with silicone spacers under the heated bed with 40mm screws and reuse the original M4 nuts with printed knobs. All running 1.3.3.36 and rooted and the bed can be dialed in very precisely using the Screw_Tilt macro.

Thanks for the info- I got mine fixed by- 1 switching off Combing, 2 increase Z-hop to 0.4mm, 3 decreasing the flow. I found I had to decrease my flow by a whopping 25%. I set it to 75% flow and it is now flawless with no dragging.

"don't let people blow smoke up your ass" is the best quote of today I have heard bud. I feel exactly the same about my SV08..i have 4 built vorons I don't know why i got it. Anywhoo i would imagine the K2 is way better than the SV08 though.

😂👍 It took me about an hour but I got it printing good again so after 3 failed prints the next print is finished and looking good. So you’re right it’s not as bad as my SV08’s. Clogs happen and I should have known better than to try and print something without washing the flex plate. 🤦♂️

How’s the heated chamber compared to xmax 3? I know you mostly print PLA, but just curious how the prints are compared to xmax 3
@OuterRimArmorer27 күн бұрын
I actually haven’t used the heated chamber on any of my qidis so I’m not sure I would be a good person to ask that one too. I don’t think the prints are better. They are more comparable to my k1 max which is good but my xmax3’s print great so good is sorta up there with my SV08’s. But I’ve also had two failed prints back to back on this new printer so it’s giving me all the typical meh it’s another Creality vibe.

Glad it was helpful! It’s been a little bit of a struggle with these. They can print something amazing and blow my mind and then fail for no reason mid print. Probably a lose connection is what I’m reading from other owners. My Creality K2 Plus just failed on two big prints back to back but I will take some blame since I should have washed the build plate before use. 🤦♂️ I’m trying a third time and hopefully now it finishes and looks good. 🙏
