Hi mate, what’s your preferred reel for jigging, preferably one that’s not hundreds and hundreds of dollars?

Thanks for all this valuable information. A quick question: Why not use an additional treble hook at the bottom of the lure instead of relying solely on the assist hooks when using a boat? Much appreciated.

Nice! - trying this now. Had great success getting kids into eating fish (especially if it's a strong flavoured fish) in the restaurant scene back in the day using the smaller "bite" sized pieces and adding some maggi chicken soup to the crumb. Also for fish tacos crush some corn chips into a course crumb for a taste hit coupled with smashed avocado mayo. Thanks for the inspiration Rob.

Hello Rob, great to see after looking for tips and tricks and seeing SOOO many Big Mouth Bass in dirty rivers rather than views of NZ - finally hooked a good 'un here. Just moved to West coast of Auckland and learning my way around the very different Manukau Harbour but finding some good fish there. Also REALLy pleased to watch anything presented in this friendly and relaxed way on growing, cooking, being more sustainable and just re-connecting with the simpler ways of doing things.

Love the recycled hot house cuz. Recycling is my thang... No vege garden for me this summer due to the move, but got most of the fencing done to establish a new one today. Got to keep the chooks, ducks, cattle, and horses out before planting, or there'll be none for me..

Hey Great video mate. Question on the micro jigs, what weight are you using and how do you know which weights to use?
@NZkayakfishing10 ай бұрын
Thanks. Was using an 80gram jig. I started with smaller versions however when the current (which is quite strong in this area) starts up its best to up size to ensure you don't get to much line angle (the more vertical the better) and this keeps the jig more below the angler which assist with working the jig better, hope that helps cheers
