Not going to lie I'm 46 years old and been drawing since childhood. I'm not in an professional field however I have collectors worldwide. I pretty much sold hundreds of originals, commissions and a ton of prints and still sell either directly or through Ebay) does this classify me as a professional.?? Anyway my biggest regret in my art journey is that I have never really traced or copy any artist. I was always stubborn about it. Never copied , traced other's work let alone barely even used reference if at all. I often wonder how much better I would be if I started that way by copying other artist for practice.

If you have a continuous outline you can just select the outside of your sketch then inverse selection and id reduce the selection by a few pixels. Just make a new layer and fill in with a solid color. Voila
