Look at that- it's my favorite te waza. Thanks for covering it more deeply. I'd like to go down to your dojo someday to show off how I like doing Tai Otoshi and not impress you.

Fancy seeing you here, Chadi. Why aren't you in Sydney getting featured on this channel?

Great question...I don't currently have a video of De Ashi Harai from Kenka Yotsu, so I have added it to the list of techniques to film.

Technically, there is no harai in O guruma, it is a wheel.

Yes, I agree and I would say this is a poor demonstration of O Guruma...hopefully I improved from this point for the updated version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6K4ioWQbq92ic0 Thank you for your feedback.

Great breakdown! Working on getting better with my throws and especially my terminology.

Thank you...yeah, it's not easy. I think I'd been learning Judo for about 20 years before really starting to study the names and terminology more diligently...have fun with it!!

Congrats, David! It makes a lot of sense to extend your coaching to an online service with the ability to buy individual works or subscribe. Best of luck with everything, and thank you for all you've shared and helped me with thus far.

@simonsharpe1352Ай бұрын
Great video as always. Is the hand coming off the collar grip the only thing that is different from a Gake throw?
@sevasentinel4146Ай бұрын
You can do it with a sleeve grip, too. Difference with this and gake is that your arm goes under theirs as if doing Ippon Seoi Nage and as you drive and hook the leg, you fall into them positioned perpendicular to them, with the arm wrapping and body positioning creating a wrapping motion, hence it being a makikomi.
@TheJudoWayofLifeАй бұрын
Thank you. Mostly, yes...I would also add the finish of the throw is different, typically you follow down to the ground with the Kouchi Makikomi as seen in the video, but with Kouchi Gake you tend to finish the throw in a standing position. I would say the action of the "hooking" leg is the same.
