You picked the right time to visit China for sure, late October and early November, so not hot nor cold, and not too crowded. Interesting video. 👍

The red knot bridge was so cool. The two rivers looked so picturesque. Grandma hotel decor is a fun break from all the super modern design! Your tour seems fairly long, didn't you say it was almost 3 weeks in total? I assume you booked with a German tour operator?
@LesleyAdina6 күн бұрын
@@rosecolouredglasses Yes :) So the tour I booked through a German tour operator was 14 days but I did arrive a couple of days early to have some time to explore Beijing by myself before the itinerary started and same at the end of the tour to have a few extra days in Shanghai :)
@rosecolouredglasses6 күн бұрын
@@LesleyAdina Ah I see. In that case 2 weeks sounds more manageable. I assumed that it was a European thing to have such long vacations
@LesleyAdina6 күн бұрын
Maybe a little more common than in the US but still, it did take a lot of saving up of PTO days to make an almost 3 week trip happen :) So worth it though!

I have watched a lot of Vlogs about Beijing, and you are the first one who visited Summer Palace, which is quite surprising to me as a Chinese person.
@LesleyAdina7 күн бұрын
Really? Well, I am so glad I went despite the weather. I’d imagine for a lot of tourists what it comes down to is lack of time. Beijing has so much to offer so it’s a matter of prioritizing one sight over another. Thank you for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment :)

Chinese viewer here. Wonder what made you make this China trip when many westerners do not travel to China? Glad that you like the trip and thanks for sharing! The cruise is much better than what I expected, maybe I could book it when I have spare time, thank you. You are warm and beautiful. I also appreciate your efforts both on the journey and on the video editing work. Best wishes!
@LesleyAdina9 күн бұрын
Thank you, I really appreciate your kind words! I was surprised myself with how much I enjoyed the cruise. We had about a week’s worth of a fairly busy itinerary behind us at that point so having a few days on the ship was nice for a change. I think the fact that China isn’t a country that is overly travelled to by Europeans and people from the US is one of the main reasons why I wanted to go and experience it myself :) And the country did not disappoint☺️

@@LesleyAdina It is more expensive to buy luxury bags in China, for the tariff on luxury goods is about 20%~50%(consuming tax and value added tax not included yet). That is why many Chinese ladies go to Hongkong and Paris to buy them. During the pandemic, with travelling blocked, many goes to a mall without tariff in Sanya of Hainan, China. This mall is located on a beautiful tropical beach, with many famous luxury hotels newly built nearby, worth a visit.
@LesleyAdina7 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for sharing! That is super interesting. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to squeeze Hongkong into my trip. Maybe next time :) I‘ll make sure to put Hainan on my bucket list as well.
@thecuteip7 күн бұрын
@@LesleyAdina You are welcome. As my opinion, it not a pity not to go to Hongkong. Hongkong is famous for it used to be a trade and financial 'door' between China and the West, not for its natural beauty. After 2020, both USA and China seem care about Hongkong much less. USA seems leverage Singapore instead. However, China has given the same beneficial policies as Hongkong to Hainan since 2020. So from China's perspective, Hainan could be some kind of a big version of new 'Hongkong'. Hainan used to be poor and undeveloped, but now with all the new policies it is developing rapidly. Maybe it is hard for Hainan to perform better than Hongkong in just economy, for it is much bigger and not recognized by the USA and UK and it is far from mainland China, but there could be some coming competiton to Hongkong from Hainan one or some decades later. For now, some of the no-tariff luxury shopping from mainland China begins shift from Hongkong to Hainan. What is more, Hainan is way more beautiful than Hongkong. The city of Shenzhen, growing from a village to one of China's tech hub, is Hongkong's neighbouring city. Its GDP has passed that of Hongkong since 6 years ago, and it is more beautiful than Hongkong.

My family took a Yangtze river cruise too back in the 90s (I guess on the same trip as Beijing). My ahem ahem personal translator (i.e. mother) told me that after the 3 gorges dam would be completed, cruise ships couldn't pass anymore, hmmm! That show about the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms looks amazing! What city was the show located?
@LesleyAdina9 күн бұрын
Oh wow, so you got to do a cruise before the river levels rising as a result of the dam? Must have looked wildly different! Just tried to look it up and apparently the show was in a city/area called “Dongxi Town, Zhongxian County”. Your mom might be right in the sense that I don’t think the cruise ships actually pass through the Dam’s ship lift. So for instance, there may not be a cruise that takes you from Chongqing all the way to Shanghai where the Yangtze flows into the sea. Don’t quote me though ;)
@LesleyAdina8 күн бұрын
Oh that’s lovely! For the most part, locals sold tea leaves, nuts and dried mushroom (?) at our anchor points. Might have been tempted by a non-edible souvenir but it didn’t seem like they sold things like that when we went

if sun is the true source of heat then if the sun moving few degrees north & south in the sky become the difference between summers & winters then why winter days are colder in the presence of the sun while summer nights are warmer in the absence of the sun ? do you human slaves know things for yourselves or do you believe & regurgitate what ever you get preached by the ruling satans' indoctrination programmes called education religion media science medical etc ?
