I've heard various theories on this. I heard they drain all the fuel, and new tires are placed on the car before weighing. Either the car lost 1.5Kgs in oil or MB used underweight parts on Russell's car. With all that said and the fact that Hamilton (44) took 2 pitstops and only finished 0.5 second behind Russell, just shows how much better a drive Hamilton is over Russell.

no, each tire loses weight each stint, and since gr had worn tires from the one stop he lost that weight. Thats why we always hear of drivers picking up rubber during cooldown laps but at Spa they dont have a cooldown as they enter the paddock through the exit of the pit lane

That's funny cause I expected Hammy to easily catch and pass Russell having much fresher tires, yet he couldn't. Actually shows how much better Russell is.

@@luckymchl2074Are you stupid or are you just intentionally ignoring the fact, that they purposely didn't tell Lewis, that his colleague on a one stop strategy? What do you think Lewis would've done, if they had told him immediately? He would've caught up with him much faster and would've forced Russell to use up his tyres much faster, and then what?

The tyres are removed before weighing... so wearing them more makes exactly 0.0kg difference. The fuel is also removed. The bare car was underweight and they must already know why without an investigation... unless they are surprisingly amateur.

This was a cunning game, coz, if they would've told Lewis, he would've caught up with him way sooner and also would've worn down Russell's tyres, coz he would've had to defend a lot more. Russell only had this chance by Toto being dishonest to Lewis

They knew what they did and got caught as Russell was hoping he would get away with it. Mercedes and Russell knew this was the only way to win after Lewis out qualified him this was one option which Russell took but got caught.

A Bullshit reason for DQ fuel weight is changeable and is another management issue to aid in winning all teams have the ability to manage that as part of strategy as in all motor sport rules can make or break the sport
