Hello there! I have almost 3000 hours into NMS (2922 to be exact) and watch a couple of different NMS content creators but mainly Jason Plays. He makes great tutorials for new players, BTW. He also does a lot of different challenges, which I enjoy; however, I find your idea of a "scientific" exploration of NMS to be a refreshing idea. Your content is pleasant to watch, very artfully done with the cinematics and music. I hope you continue with the series. Subscribed and looking forward to seeing what you create in this game that I love so much.

Looking forward to see how this series pans out. I’m a follower of nomads tale but no longer play eve. I actually brought this game yesterday, so very new to it. So far I’m liking it. Btw where did you “find” the freighter? I’m planning getting through the missions then just packing a suitcase and heading off a bit like your doing.
@chloroken
@chloroken 13 күн бұрын
Hey! That's awesome that you picked up NMS. I think it's on sale, yeah? As for the freighter, don't worry, if you do the story mission (Artemis' quests), you will eventually be given the opportunity "save" a freighter from pirates and then claim that freighter for free. Your first freighter you claim is free, so if you hate the first one you find, just wait for a better one. That's what I did for this series, it took a LONG time to find this particular freighter though. Good luck out there!

yeah I got it on sale, £13.99 of my British pounds well spent. I am following the story I think. At the point of just fitted the hyperdrive to my noobie or ship. Just need to make the fuel. There’s no hand holding which I like. :)

OK, so… 60 hours in and find I’m still scratching the surface of this game….. Got a B class capital ship, a C class sentinel interceptor and perfectly happy with those. Going to do some upgrades all round and gather supplies then it’s off into the unknown. It’s quite amazing how many distractions this game has.

My usual NMS guys are Captain Steve and Scottish Rod, but THIS, this is like Dr Kipping (Cool Worlds channel) mixed with a great audiobook. Day 1 NMS was a bit of a trainwreck, but the progress they've made in the years since is truly astounding. I've spent my time working my way thru the galaxies (up to 39 now) seeking the most interesting life and planets, and just last night FINALLY found a floating island world. The freedom to go anywhere, do anything puts some people off, but for me that level of freedom is mesmerizing. One of the recent Expeditions had as a Milestone simply looking at the sky for a bit, and at that moment, looking up at the stars it hit me after nearly 1000 hours, that EVERY POINT OF LIGHT WAS A STAR! And I could go to each of them. Funny how you take for granted just looking up, until a moment comes when the enormity of it all hits you like a sledgehammer. I have never found a game like this, not even Star Citizen gives me the sense of truly galactic scope. I can't wait for Light No Fire, only ONE planet, but the actual size of Earth...mind boggling. One of my favorite books was Wayne Barlowe's Expedition, based on precisely what you're doing here, and it has been my inspiration for my own voyages in NMS. Should you ever find yourself in need of a traveling companion, look for Conner McCrea the Immortal (that achievement was a nightmare, but well worth it) , I'm most often off on the fringes of a galaxy, staring into the Deep Black and seeing what the rim has to offer, far away from the bustle of the core.

Hi Conner! Thanks for taking the time to share your love for NMS with me. I'll have to check out those other creators sometime. The idea you're on the 39th galaxy is hilarious to me. I wonder if I'll even leave Euclid in this series :hmmm: Expedition seems like a winner of a book. I actually bought and read a hardcover copy of The Voyage of the Beagle for this series. Seems like I have some more inspiration to draw from. I was considering Wallace's book next but the more the merrier. :) I hope to see you out there sometime. I have PvP enabled in my series and if I run into folk it'll go in. Thanks again for this epic comment. Seems like the NMS community isn't playing around when it comes to having fun.

@@chloroken I've noticed over the years that NMS has one of the best communities in any game I've played, it seems to attract the mindset that you and I share, explorers and philosophers setting out for parts unknown just to see what's out there. IRL we don't really have an outlet for folk like that anymore, no dragons to slay or lost continents to unveil, so we get our "fix" in games like this. EDIT: Back in the early 2000's Discovery did a presentation of Barlowe's book called Alien Planet, and there's some video breakdowns here on KZbin as well.

Im confused, why do people use HAMS on the loki and legion instead of using the tengu to get that extra missile launcher slot??
@chloroken
@chloroken 16 күн бұрын
They have different bonuses on the subsystems. Loki has 10% rate of fire per level, Tengu has 5% damage and 7.5% rate of fire. If you math it out, with drones, they do very similar damage, but the Loki has arguably better application.
