Just a comment in regards to certain overenthusiastic reviewers. I also own this Dell monitor. But it's not in even in close comparison to Apple Displays or even 10 year old Macbook Pro displays. Just so you don't get fooled! But it's a very good and usable consumer monitor with high 4k resolution, pristine sharpness and a trustworthy colorspace, and with great connectivity (that's probably the number one highlight). And maybe it's even better than what you get at the same price from other competitors like LG, Samsung, BenQ or whatever. But as a 'spoiled' Apple user I immediately noticed the dim corners, especially in the upper corners, especially in apps with solid UI's. It's dim in general: I have to operate brightness at 100% during daytime. Solid black background shows shadows of light seaping in from the lower corners, noticable at night. I wonder why this is not mentioned in videos like this? It is well documented by a throughly test at rtngs.com. Some may say 60hz it too little but that's no problem for me, my Macbook Pro 2019 is the same. But maybe if you're into gaming it might be. And the build feels a little plasticy, though at least it does not look terrible like many PC monitors. A final thing: The optional Dell Display Manager Software (handy for turning the brightness up and down during the day). During operation it seems to cause glitches and small halts to MacOS at certain intervals, and it affects all running apps, so make sure to Quit it immediately after ajusting. But that's gotta tell you something about consumer-grade too. Just so you know: The Dell U2723QE is a very good consumer monitor, and it's probably more than perfect for most people into productivity. But it's no Apple Display. This is the one (and only) point I want to make with this comment, but it's a good point as many keep claiming it or making near comparisons over and over.

I am looking to get this for my secondary monitor... I might get it just because of the usb power through and built in KVM that will let me use both my mac and pc interchangeably.

I've had a terrible experience with these. They don't cancel any sound directly around me. My own typing, the clinking of metal on my purse, it's awful.

Hey. I buy the 2013’13’ in 2015 and he’s dead a few days ago (keyboard and batterie). I change the batteries, keyboard and also trackpad and logic board to make it like a 2015 MacBook Pro A1502. Best choice after 9 years of use. I refit my MacBook Pro and upgrade it and now I will upgrade the SSD to 4 To. Apple doesn’t like we us our right to repair and upgrade.

I got mine last week, but mine has noticeably warmer tones than my U2720Q. The white pages look quite pale. Is it something you observed as well?

Can you share the black skin that you are using? Did it decrease how uncomfortable the sharp edges are?

Apple fanboy here. Just just picked up a used 9300 for $280. Switching out my MacBook 12” 2017. Mainly for retro gaming, managing home NAS, and occasional video watching. Still use iPhone and have a Mac mini hooked to the tv

My ipad pro 11inch 2018 never lag since i bought in 2022. Now 2024, i keep using it without clear my multitasking, still run perfect, no lag at all. Everything smooth and fast. No point for me to upgrade.

As someone that had 3 IPads so far - for today - get M1, it's cheaper, still super fast - all the Mchip features are there and it's still future proof. If you don't want monitor support and other things - get 2018 super cheap and there will be almost no difference for you.

I had and have the same issue with Dells for years, they don’t handle sleep mode correctly, and for that I prefer Thinkpads or Macs.

Says: "the display doesn't wobble if there is movement of the desk", but you can clearly see in the video that the display is wobbling badly when there is movement of the desk!

Good headphones. Bluetooth connections are junk, like anything that has Bluetooth built in, you lose a lot of sound quality. I use a Bluetooth headphone amp. Its tiny and clips on the headband. It's the only Bluetooth adapter I have ever used. That sounds better than a wired connection

It is my second DELLL XPS. I have bought the first one in 2016 and I was disappointed. the autonomy was not matching with my expectation and I had a battery problem which bloat. I think the computer over heated. Dell did not took it in warranty. I change myself the battery and I said to myself, it is okay it happens. In 2020, I bought an XPS 9300 with an I7. after 3 years use, I am disappointed because the autonomy is very low... I have something like 3 hours autonomy... for a portable computer which should enable us to work anywhere but close to an electricity plug... So 2000 € for that...arfff... I am thinking now to try apple macbook, even if I was always against apple products...

In 2024 Is the MAC operating system less compatible than Windows when using certain software or programs? I have a basic 2022 Dell XPS 13 9305 1920 x 1080 display, i5 Intel, 8GB 256SSD. It seems from this review that the M Silicon Macbooks trounce any other laptop on performance but are there disadvantages in using the MAC operating system over Windows? Matte coating. Terrible.

I’d take a glossy 1080p monitor over a 8k matte finish any day lol. I’ll never understand why the ENTIRE industry switched to matte. It looks grainy and dull. The only real option for a decent monitor is the Alogic clarity. They don’t have matte finishes and they have a lot of the Apple studio features. I got mine for less than 700 USD.

It wasn’t fair for you to compare the contrast between the MacBook and the dell monitor at 5:30 as the dell does not have local dimming

I ordered a new unit but received a used unit from Dell with a broken seal, missing calibration protocol and scratches. However, they also exchanged the device quickly. However, with a lot of support effort and a long delivery time of about a week (UPS standard). They did not even announce the pick-up. The UPS courier had to come back the next day. I think the monitor is very good. But there are also many points deducted (no speaker, no webcam, the conference soundbar doesn't sound very great, only HDR 400, black contrast is okay but not convincing, everything is only made of plastic, some ports are hard to reach).
